well its pretty messy - i reckon there must have been some serious pressure as it has forced the top off - the pics will show what i mean, however if it had forced the top off theres no gunk on the soundproofing under the bonnet - so i reckon its shot down or over sides....oh jeez i dont know as i was looking in a downpour in the dark.. !!!!!!

........cant do much right now as i have no garage space - it should support 3 cars but with a me having  a bleeding v6 omega in bits , a freezer, washing machine, pool table, 2 engine hoists and god knows what else....oh and then  theres a renault to attent to - no in fact make that two.... :-/

i really really dont have time for the veccy but it was far too good to miss out on so t can sit in a corner and sulk untill... ;D

some pics to follow.....

this one is self explanatory

as is this one

oil nice and oily in here no gunk !!

and this oil is fine - NOT nothing on the dipstick to suggest a problem

Nice enough...

Ok apologies for going on about vectras i will say no more  :-X

...apart from i have used a new id elsewhere and posted on another forum in the relevant car / technical section and got no response since yesterday   :-X

Oil cooler......when the oil gets at the coolant tank lid seal it distorts and throws oily coolant everywhere.

The insides like a bit dirty....

obviously needs a few flushes of oil and fortes/ coolant flush several times.

Would you take the heads off to have a lok see at this stage..... or try the above first....? :-/

Leave the heads where they are and drop an oil cooler in.

Flush the system and check the plug wells for oil and go from there.

thanks Mark, oil cooler is it on TC?

i wont be doing it, as mentioned untill i get the cdx away, meantime today -

decided - as i had a hunch - to fill some coolant into the header - not much mind...i had a squeeze about the radiator hoses and there wasnt much happening. True to form the coolant dribbled straight out again - bottom of the radiator.  Also removed battery and header tank.

Clearly the radiator is goosed....so its what happened first time ( chicken and egg time)

radiator - hole - leak of coolant - pop goes everything
or oil cooler - block - heat - radiator...oh i dunno back preassure and off with the cap ?.... :-/

deal with a few hgf rovers but boy had i forgotten how hard it is to get the mayo off everything.........

under battery tray and beyone ( looking down ) gunk as fa as the eye can see - note however its ALL come from header

a shot from under neath - taken from front paessenger side - gunk gunk gunk gunk gunk bloody gunk
