Fire brigade are tackling a huge blaze at another block of flats in London. The building is apparently ablaze from the ground floor to the 6th floor with the fire starting about 3.30pm.No reports yet of any casualties[hopefully there will be none]and obviously no cause is yet known.

Thank god.  I couldn't cope with another 2yrs of daily vigils, like they still seem to be doing for Grenfell.

I heard on the London version of the Politics show on BBC1 today that there is still a high level of dangerous contamination around the old block.

I wondered if they meant the people around there or the whole Borough of toffs! ::) ::) :D ;)

Don't forget the choir, diy-sos, all the hangers on, the enquirys, for the 2000+ people who allegedly lived there, and the standard witch hunt to blame all and sundry, and watch those in charge back peddling to save there pension.

Luckily there have been only 2 cases of injuries reported[no fatalities] :y Quite possibly the time of day that the fire occurred was a factor in this.

At six storeys, it hardly compares to a tower block like Grenfell  which are unsafe once they catch fire. Wherever they are in the world.

Yes, indeed.

I live in a six floor block with just 24 flats, but our Housing Association have still spent considerable sums on replacing all our front doors with brilliant looking up to date fire doors, and likewise they have replaced all the communal fire doors and partitions, with a full fire safety inspection by Fire Officers to check we have the latest smoke detectors and carbon monoxide sensors.

Grenfell was a terrible thing to happen, but it has done the likes of us living in small blocks of flats a real favour ;)

It is compared to what most will get, now there are no DB pensions out there, only DC. By some margin. ;)
