Looking for a pre-facelift driver's side xenon headlights shell don't need ballast or motor or bulb, don't care if adjuster broken, just need a good casing to complete a repair.

Cheers

3 x 3L V6 Omegas - 2 of which have since sadly passed

Brand new front and rear bumper shells in primer/black top edge, genuine GM Elite bumper shells - £30 each collected, difficult to post without damage, happy to discuss options.

These are the colour-coded ones - having the lower valance of the bumpers colour-coded (Elite style) makes a big improvement to the car's looks.

These are part number 1 in the diagrams below, also have part number 4 for the front only (currently in Polar Sea Blue for £20).

Complete manual gear lever (with good gear knob) modified to give around 35% less shift distance, will fit all manual Omega models, the gear shift mechanism is universal.

£50 collected, £60 posted in UK.

Pretty straight-forward to change over.

I bought spacers for the top of my Bilsteins on the rear of my saloon - part number 90447246.

They come in a pack of 5 - obviously in case you need to do 2½ cars  :D  so I have some spares.

£2.50 each posted.

Pair of good Xenons with aluminium adjusters fitted and good, clear lenses, complete with bulbs and ballasts.
£60 collected, £70 posted.

Car Parts, bits For Sale & Wanted / Wanted: V6 dis pack 0221503017
« on: 29 October 2015, 19:26:24 »
Need a known good dis pack for 1999 3L MV6, it's the one where everything plugs into the top and the oval wiring socket.

Bosch part # 0221503017

Outputs for cylinders 1 & 5 have died on my one.

Omega General Help / V6 dis pack problem
« on: 29 October 2015, 19:06:49 »
Interesting one... after been laid up since June because it needed the head gaskets doing, the dis pack has decided it no longer wants to send a spark to cylinders 1 and 5.

Wondering if this is a typical failure?

At first I thought I'd made a boo boo of replacing the head gaskets because it was only running on 4 cylinders but did a compression test and all 6 are getting about 16 bar.
So I checked all the plug leads were ok, nothing from 1 & 5 so replaced with spares, still nothing.
Put leads 1 & 5 onto dis pack outputs for 2 and 4 (wasted spark pairing) and hey presto, a spark, and proof that the leads are ok.

So I can either have it running on 2, 3, 4, 6 or 1, 3, 4, 5 which at least proves all the cylinders work if they have ignition.

Anyone else had a similar failure?  No sign of rust or splits in the casing.

I've been doing the head gaskets on the V6 and almost put an inlet cam sprocket on 180deg out of alignment.

It made me think though... what would actually happen?

Obviously the inlet valves would be open on the combustion stroke instead of the inlet stroke but there would be no risk of valves meeting the pistons.

What about at the bottom of the stroke though, would the inlets close in time to avoid being hit by the exhausts opening (assuming the exhaust cam sprocket is on correctly) or do the valves not open far enough to make contact with each other in the first place?

Anyone with first hand experience?

This is a tough one, I'm very reluctantly putting my mini-facelift 1999 3.0L MV6 manual saloon up for sale.

I had to put it off the road over the winter (due to head gasket failure) and because I still needed transport, I bought an M5 - well, what else do you replace an MV6 with?  So the Omega now has to go.

I bought this car 5 years ago in very poor mechanical condition but (importantly to me) the bodywork was solid, and since I had a 3.0L V6 Elite with exactly the opposite problem, I had all parts I would need to make it good.  This took longer than expected, although the car was roadworthy within 6 months, I only finished the full transformation in June 2013.

Anyway, enough of the sob story...

1999 3.0L MV6 manual saloon, Polar Sea Blue pearlescent, MOT 15th Jun 2016, 173,667 miles (engine & g.box only done 94k)

Engine & Gearbox:
Replaced in 2013 at 168,600 miles with engine & manual gearbox from my 3.0L V6 Elite which had just over 89k on the clock
Cam belt, rear crank seal, crank sensor, MAF, thermostat, water pump, oil pressure switch, coolant temperature sensor, breather box, all replaced with genuine GM parts during engine change
   New radiator
Head gaskets just changed, new cam seals, valve stem seals, etc.

Jetex full stainless steel cat-back system
Red Dot Racing ECU chip with 7,200rpm rev limit
   Short-shift gear lever
Estimated power 240-250bhp, pulls in enough air to put the MAF above it's working range (although MAF input not used in WOT maps so this does not cause a problem)

Suspension, Steering & Brakes
Bilstein shocks & Eibach -35mm springs (lower than MV6 spec)
Powerflex front ARB bushes, poly rear cross-member donuts
Steering arms, drop links, front wishbones, rear track arms all replaced with GM parts late 2010 at 155k
   Hunter 4 wheel aligned
Red Dot Racing front disks and pads
Rear brakes converted to vented disks Oct 2014 (new Mintex disks & GM pads & TRW handbrake shoes)

Irmscher front bumper (and standard Irmscher boot lip spoiler)
De-chromed and de-badged, Opel badges front and rear are the only markings
Sale will include a full set of painted facelift side trims (I didn't get round to fitting these)
Pre-facelift MV6 17" wheels with very good tyres

Interior:
Light grey Elite leather interior, all 4 seats heated and working, full electric adjustment on front seats
MV6 carbon effect console, gear surround and door card trims
   Rear electric sun blind
   Bose sound system

Have done so much to this car that I have probably left lots out.
