i'll be surprised if this isn't of interest....
2x lower arms with bushes and ball joints
2x complete track rods inner and outers
2x drop links
all brand new OEM quality ATP from Germany ebay item 381141643466
£69 delivered for the lot! got my box of goodies in 3 days via dpd
as we're all aware you'll struggle to buy one good quality lower arm for that.
and the bushings look of very good quality
well pleased!    :D

That is the forum recommended budget ATP kit - can be had from eBay or direct from ATP.

Fitted to 2 of my cars and works perfectly.

ATP ain't OEM, nor OE quality.

I don't rate it, but it may get people out of a short term hole

Even if they only last a year, they allow previous set to be refurbished ready ;)

I use them  . . .but only do low mileage in any omega I have

Usually pay just short of £100 for the set  . . .now £69   . . .so if it's the same stuff it must be worth that money. General thought is around 20k miles out of a set of those bones I think  :-\

Whats this about  "China"   ?   ;D ;D   what are these now then "sweet & sour wishbones" ;D ;D ;D

But OE  they certainly ain't  ::) ::)

I had a set of ATP wishbones and I fitted front polybushes, but discovered that the welds on the rear bush carrier were starting to crack after a while.  :-\

I don't think they're strong enough to cope with the extra stress at the rear bush that front polybushes deal out, but maybe mine were a 'Friday' set.  ::)  I would fit them again but wouldn't modify them.  ;)

Haha!  :y

I'm slowly stocking up on track rods (well, I have three  ::)) and I think it's been said, do the droplinks as an annual service item, the sillycheap sum of a fiver that they cost.  :)

They work as intended. But aren't as durable as genuine ones... That said, you'll pay nearly a grand for that lot from VX (without discounts), so would reasonably expect them to last ten times longer. Thing is, they don't.

Remember, for many, the labour costs and realignment costs far outweigh part costs, so sometimes it is worth taking one up the arse from GM.  That's why I now always use GM TREs, as pattern ones are good for about a year - and a £25 GM TRE seems cheap when each alignment is £70....

My big concern with ATP wishbones is multiple reports of cracking :o

The ones under the item number given are not ATP. Under the brand name at the top of the page is Q-1 parts and not ATP. I can't find any info on who Q-1 Parts are.

It's my front wishbone bushes on both sides that are gone on mine and a drop link on one side.

Thanks

IIRC,Taxi Al,aka HKT aka ?? a while ago now, did a bit of feed back on ATP and again iirc,he may of possibly tried them on his ex plod estate and gave them a reasonable review :-\ I have the kits fitted to my cars and have had absolutely no problems with them on the annual 3-4k per car that I drive. So it's a matter of,is the car a keeper or just a stop gap for a year or two and what's your annual mileage? and are you going to spend more than the car's worth on the parts already discussed?
On a personal basis,I'm not happy to go to my main stealers and get the usual bending over, when there are cheaper and proven solutions available. :)

As for Febi, iirc it was one of these which snapped during my vertical bush experiment...

ATP supplied are of similar quality for less...

If you want to choosy, pick the heaviest ones you can find :y

If they're no good I might just refurbish the ones that are on the car with VX bushes.

I've got Meyle HD droplinks on all of mine as the genuine GM ones struggle to last 20K now which means they were only good for 6 months for me.

Both sides are the same part, do a little hunt on ebay to see if there are the same supplier for a pound or two less as that was the first hit (I was in a hurry).

The HD ones shown have a 4 year warranty and are far superior in build quality to the other alternatives plus they are now proven to last

They're shit going by the photo :o

You want as much weld as possible around the rear/vertical bush, ideally continuous, but at least 55% split between the two sides... Those are barely 20%

And they individually cost as much as the complete set from ATP.

If you can, go to local factors and buy from them having seen the welding first hand. Failing this, buy cheap and treat as a service item. Labour notwithstanding, the geometry should really be annual anyways ;)

Well I don't agree with you there Al, sorry, given they are a rubber bush setup there should be minimal strain on the turret (very different with poly) and the minimal weld will be more than up to it (more weld can actually make it more brittle)

However, Meyle wishbones are an unknown, we know the bushes are pretty good and so are the ball joints.

I would still go with a new rear bush and poly front in what ever wishbones you have as the first choice.

Fair dos Mark ;)

Genuine arms have over twice the weld area to those shown. Granted my attention to this was with a view to polybuyshing the vertical bush, but I cannot say what make arm failed... could have been Febi or Delphi or Firstline just as easily as being an ATP cheapy... hence my suggestion to buy the ATP ones and treat them as a service item :-\

If I was fitting a poly, I would probably be tempted to do a more radical mod and adding strengthening plates to the bush turret (happy to do this is anybody wants to have a go) for any wishbone supplier.  :y

I'm using a cheapie wishbone (with all GM and Poly bushes, plus GM balljoints) the wishbones were as-new, but treated to several coats of stonechip paint before fitting, (so touch wood corrosion can not be a factor in any future failure) 2 years and 10k and counting. Happy to leave this as a long-term test for the polys vs the wishbone with less weld.  :)

Mileage is 90% town stop-start, with a row of speed bumps every single day I drive to/from work, too (plus a front nearside RTA nearly 1 yr ago) I'm not gentle on the old girl! Hopefully this is a fairly strenuous test for this setup.

Most of my experimentation was tested at 500-700 miles a week ;)

The vertical poly is pretty much ruled out unless a radical redesign can be achieved...

I think driving style has an impact as well, along with road type.  Round these parts, around the lanes, its not difficult to regularly launch the car, hence the awful state of the underside of my Irmscher bumper within days of getting it sprayed  :'(
