That's not good, hints that the circuit board has an issue.

Have you powered it off, removed the wall plug, and left it for a period of time to hard reset the micro?

Yes, several times! It's not a total loss; I can still warm my coffee for 59 seconds....

 Blimey Ron are you that slow, you have to reheat coffee after making it with that new fangled electric kettle..
