The MOT history would suggest so! I haven't actually seen it yet but as good V6 manuals are getting hard to find, I wanted to put a deposit down to secure it. I've been after one for ages and if this is anything like as good as it seems, I'll be absolutely delighted. I spoke to the seller on the phone and he seems a nice guy and everything seems to check out.
The last MOT was in January and the advisories were minor corrosion to brake lines. That was the first advisory it has EVER had!

Don't listen to the taunts about "Gay Gold" that you might get from the under-educated style police on here; I like the colour - my previous PFL Omega was that colour, officially Champagne Gold. 8) :y :)

Any more unauthorised modifications to my posts, Albs, and I will send you back to Ireland! ;D :y

I don't think that is gay (Champagne) gold, and its certainly not the even gayer Oyster, as that was FL only.

The DVLA thinks it's silver!

My Carlton (omega A ) looks the same colour :y
Vauxhall codes: 87L, 87U, 137 'Rembrandt Silver'
silver on the log book ;)

Thanks! How silvery or goldy is it in person?
I haven't actually seen this Omega yet, I'm just brave :y

If its the colour I'm thinking it is (hard to tell from those pics), its like a green/silver hue.
IIRC, it fortunately doesn't have the brown dash that the gay Gold's have... ...including the brown steering wheel that just makes me think I'm holding a turd.

I'm not saying it's defo rembrandt silver , but could be ,
paint code will be on the vin sticker ,
(by the driver door catch eye on b pillar )
if it is rembrandt silver , it's a nice colour , mopped and polished ,it is more silvery , gets golder as it gets dirty :y

That's a very nice looking car! I often wish I'd had a Carlton or Senator when they were around. I've always wanted a 3000 GSi and I still do. When the lottery numbers come up I can always get myself a Lotus!

The vauxhall Carlton (opel omega A ) was the model before omega b ,
I used to work for a very big car lease company back in the day, drove pretty much every car about at the time.
I liked the carlton the best , been driving one for 18 years (the H reg PF/l blue one to start, then the 1993 faceliift in the pic for the last 12)
Sadly due to a bad leg ,i'm having to move to an auto box car ,
hence i just purchased a 2.6 omega B auto (CDXi) that was local.
so i'll be parting company with the manual carlton soon :(

That’s a real shame Dave. The Carltons and Senators are such good looking, rare cars. Which engine is in yours?
I’m going to collect this tomorrow and I spotted a mk3 Astra yesterday that I think was in the same colour. It looked better than the pictures :)
Any tips? This won’t be my first Vauxhall, but it will be my first Omega

Mine has a documented transplanted sri130 cav engine ,so 130 bhp ,but as the engine is older than the car ,has a non cat test emissions test at mot time (1200ppm hydrocarbons, not 200 ppm and 3.5% Co ,not 0.3% Co 8) )

best of luck when you collect it :)
advice wise , same as any older used vauxhall
keep a close eye on all the levels (oil, trans fluid, coolant, brake fluid)
give it a good check over ,
if possible get the chassis rails and underside box sections dry and rust proofed ASAP
clean out drain holes in door bottoms, cills, arches and treat against rust
check and clean all brake lines and grease to protect them
make sure all the engine breather pipes are clean
get a steering wheel lock (as a visual deterant ),don't leave things on seats like sat navs etc .
I only got my first omega a few weeks ago ,so trying to future proof it myself too ;)

Update! We got the car and we are very pleased with it! Such a smooth, quiet drive and on my 260 mile journey home I got 37.9mpg according to the trip computer! It's showing half a tank after 260 miles so it has done very well. a lot of 50mph average speed sections ;D
The timing belt is only 3500 miles and one year old, so that'll stay on it for a while. When it comes to time to change it, I'm toying with putting my X30XE G-cams in it, but I don't need to think about that yet!
The engine was spotless when I arrived to see it and that raised alarm bells but it seems just as spotless now it's home and in dry storage. No sign of any fluids coming out.
The bodywork isn't perfect. There are no dents, but there's a rust spot on a rear quarter and some very badly blended paint on a front wing. Neither need immediate attention, and the car is dry at the moment so one weekend I'll set about rustproofing and maybe a bit of tidying.
I'll grab my phone in a bit and share a few of the pictures I took while collecting it.
I do have some questions about brakes and also the throttle cable (both felt a little slack to me), but maybe they should go in the technical forum?
