What icon, picture do you click on to connect to the internet ?
is it a blue e with a yellow diagonal crescent stripe (internet explorer )
a round circle with red, yellow, green round the outer and a blue bull's-eye center (google chrome)
or a blue cube with a white e in (microsoft edge)
or something else  :-\
what windows do you have ?
besides the ones you look out of ,with curtains either side  ;D :D

It's a white E which when I'm using the internet as now turns the E from white to blue and the cube round it is a blue/grey colour.I'm on Windows 10.

microsoft edge then
which I have never used
The current versions of Edge (up to Win 10 1903) are problematic with using the icons above the box you type in.  The next version of Edge will be based on Chrome, so likely will work, but if MS don't beef Chromes security, you'd be radio rental to use it.

IE works well, if you want to use built in browsers.

so check windows is up to date

Ok so paying a bit of attention[there's a first!] once it's gone through the usual rigmarole after first being turned on[choosing which e-mail address I want to look at etc]I get a backing picture with to the left of the screen a couple of columns of icons one is a blue box with a white E in it and Microsoft edge written below it,while another one is a circle of green/red and yellow with a blue dot in the centre and the words Google Chrome below it.Across the bottom of the screen are more icons which includes a blue e and the Google Chrome symbol among them,it's this blue e that I click on[always have done] to then reach the internet.

Current versions of Edge do not allow you to select any of the icons above the message box on OOF.  I CBA to even fix it, because Edge in its current form is dead.

Internet Explorer 11 is installed on Windows 10, use that for OOF:
Press Start
Type 'Internet Explorer'
Right Click Internet Explorer in the list, and "Pin to Taskbar"
Use that for OOF.

Or Install Firefox.

My smillies have not worked for ages. Did not realise it was Edge. My favourites are stored under Edge.  Have just signed in with Windows Explorer, and ...they work  :y :y :y :y :y
