As i cant get a cd changer to work with my ccr800 head unit

Im seriously thinking about ripping the bose system out and just putting an alpine cd tuner in its place. I know i wont be able to use the existing plug so will have to cut it off and join the cd tuner via wires. what i was wondering is can i use the bose speakers or will i have to replace them too?

I've just purchased a new cdc2 changer(including code)

How do i pair it up with phillips ccr800.It doesnt seem to ask for the code but the head unit doesnt seem to have picked up the cd player. just radio and tape. ive checked the lead and there is power getting to the changer cos i can eject the cartridge.

Any ideas?

hi all
 
i own an omega 3.0 elite on an R reg. it has the bose system which comprises of a phillips ccr800 head unit and a blaupunktcdc2 cd changer system in it. the multichanger incurred a fault(no disc). i bought another off of eBay(i know i know) and that has the same fault. i was wondering if any other changers would link up to the existing leads and still work with the bose amp and speakers or a single cd head unit that would work with the bose set up

Ive brought a second hand one from e-bay and i need to change the angle from 0 to 90 degrees.Could anyone tell me how to  please.Also can i get the code if needed from vauxhall bearing in mind i dont know what car it came from?

I have Xenon headlights fitted to my omega.Sometimes when driving along the passenger side one goes out.I have changed the bulb as i thought it  could be that but alas it is still doing it.

Probably a stupid question which has a simple answer, but does anyone know where the ballast/starter packs for the hid lights are  located.?Is it accessable with out taking to much apart?Wanna swap them over to see if its that thats at fault

Omega General Help / engine service parts

As a complete novice when it comes to cars im going to attempt to do an engine service to save myself a few quid. Are GM parts ok or would you recommend using bosch super 4 spark plugs and mahle oil/air fuel filters

I can get GM parts for around 45pound the lot or bosch/mahle parts for about 55-60pound

any advice on which parts to use would be appreciated.

i want to do an engine flush to. any specific cleaner to use?

Omega General Help / water leak?

I finally got the old girl up and running again last night after 7 weeks not moving. after driving her round for about 30 mins i parked her back up and left the engine running for bout 20 minutes or so to charge the battery up. I noticed water underneath. My mate looked underneath and he said its coming from air conditioning cos it was ice cold. Is this normal?

Omega General Help / Ecc problem and heated seat not working

Hi all

I have a 1998 3 litre elite which has three annoying faults at preent

1) The heater which is climate control version only blows out cold air.Ive had a new matrix fitted along with various new hoses.Ive also changed the Heater Bypass Valve to.The two pipes that enter the drivers footwell are getting hot so i guess the matrix is getting hot.
Any ideas?

2) The passenger side front heated seat (leather) has packed up.Theres power getting to the plug so would this suggest the element has blown?
If so is it a costly repair?

3) The car has xenon lights fitted and the passenger one goes off sometimes.When you turn the lights off for a seecond or so it comes back on.Ive put new bulb in but still does it
Any ideas

Im a newbie.I own a 98 3 litre elite saloon.Its slighty modded with irmscher suspension,exhaust.Its metallic dark grey and is sitting on 18'' tsw alloys.Had it about two years and to be honest i have nothing but greif with it.Its a lovely car when its running but ive had a catalogue of problems with it.No doubt just bought the wrong car from the wrong person
