I'd quite like to replace my up and over garage door which is almost certainly the original from when the house was built in the early 1960's and the rollers are getting very worn and jump out of the tracks now and again.  :-\

The problem is that the garage ceiling is asbestos, which will have to go, and I'll have to dig very deeply for that....  :-\  :(  ::)
Fit new rollers  :y
leave the asbestos for the next owner  :P

Yes.  The way things are going round here, the next owner will knock it down for a grand design anyway.  ::)

Shake a tree and Kevin McCloud falls out!  ;D

Some of the 'Grand Designs' are inspiring. .......others less so.

I recently watched an episode where a couple  spent £750,000 on what appeared to be a cold war bunker in the style of the old USSR.

It seems to me that many architects are inspired by the humble cardboard box!  :-X  ::)  :-\

It's amazing what some people spend their money on.

In another episode of GD I recall somebody paying over a million pounds for a shoe box sized plot in a 'shithole' part of London. :-\

I loved that one - but then, I love the South Bank complex and lots of other bits of brutalist architecture.
