Rear tweeter and front door wiring loom.
« on: 03 February 2013, 00:52:49 »

Hi all,
Have just got hold of a set of leather door cards for my mv6 estate and when i have been swapping them over the front door looms don't have the wiring for the puddle lights can not bloody believe it anyone know which wire's i can tap into to get a feed for them from inside the door....And the rear tweeters must not be the same in the elite as the mv6 because when i have gone to clip them in the speaker grill i broke a lug off due to them being a little bit bigger.  Unless the elite these cards came from had bose maybe ??? and so went to swop the speaker grills from one card to the other and bloody blow me they are not the same ether i thought these were are the same just goes to show you what thought did lol.

Not all were fitted with rear Tweeters, early ones where from memory and the Tweeters formed part of the Plastic Main Speaker housing on the rears so different shape template.

The speaker grill has the tweeter clips so i would say it did have them just not the same size as the mv6 ones that came out.

It's worth checking the kerb light wiring isn't just taped up inside the plastic membrane somewhere, if it's not then I have rear door looms available for sale here.
Best to check how many pins are populated in your door loom connector, also check the car body side for the feed from the door pin switches...

I never noticed that the 'superior pf/l' doesn't have kerb lights on the Mv6, I guess they had to save as much as possible for the Elite.

Hi Rich,
It has the wire for the door / puddle lights in the rear its the fronts that don't have them....Its the tweeters in the rear doors i'm having trouble with and the light looms in the fronts....Just my luck lol.

How old is your MV6, Pre or mini face?, or is it ex Plod?, the Elite would have been fitted with Bose 'Twidlers' or what ever Bose called them on the back doors, so no tweeters.

Seems strange no front lights though, thought even GLS had them, unless ex plod then a guessing game.

So you have removed the Carbon Fibre Door Cards, they have door lights, No?, if not Bose from the Elite (?) then should have thought standard rear speakers fitted, as you say theres a moulding for the tweeters (in the early ones I think) but the tweeters were not always fitted. confused now.

Might be worth posting some PIcs up to show what you have, in case its been messed with previously.

O.k so i have sorted the tweeter issue they do fit me being a tit did not notice a small locating lug which means they then fit perfect. So i have puddle lights in the rear but no wiring in the front for them ????. Seems daft to put the rear wires in and not the fronts but its defo not there have looked with mirror and torch nothing stuck anywhere ?
