Just be careful if it gets slippery as they are absolute shite as a 4x4 ;)

they say the new ones are better in this respect although wide road tyres will obviously limit any serious off road work

I had a 2.5 V6 Galant (1998) for a short few months.  Interior was dull, but very comfortable.  The Leather was excellent quality.  Performance was not what I was expecting from a V6 though, very sluggish compared to the Omega...... probably down to the Auto in the Mitsubishi being rubbish (INVECS 2 I think).

I had a 98 v6 manual and loved it,good on fuel and in manual form pretty quick,in fact the only reason I don't still have it is because of low kerb/towing weight. One of the best cars I have ever owned :y

007 Nearside rear braking system leaking (BURST ON TEST) ....

I assume that this MOT station also does repairs.  :-/ It does seem rather coincidental  :-?  :-?  :-?
In 30yrs of owning a car I've never had a brake hose burst, they've needed replacing due to being perished, but to burst on a car as old as yours ...... :-/  :-/  :-/  :-/

I have seen several pipes burst on test over the years, mainly pipes that are hidden by exhaust shields and the like and mostly on renaults :D

It does seem a coincidence though that Mr MOT man failed most lengths of brake pipe due to 'rust' on a car somewhat newer than mine, and then a pipe just happens to burst on test too?  :-?  :-?  :-?

true I suppose :P

Kumho ku31 give good value apparently.

I have used khumo on a few different cars and think they are pretty good for the money, the mig will have some when it needs replacements

It was the same a few years ago when diesel was much cheaper than petrol then diesel car sales took off and so Did diesel fuel prices >:(

Economy, cost of running, reliability are key factors.

I think that might possibly rule out a Jeep Cherokee. That is a big vehicle. I don't really want anything that will average less than 23mpg even on diesel.

Toyota? ?   Only need 4 or 5 seats.

Had another look at a locals SWB Mitsibushi Pajero today. It isn't for sale but has done 140k miles. After a clean up it would be a good buy!!

Funnily enough just towed a ton of sand home tonight in a trailer up and down the 1 in 5 hills and my neighbour who came with me was mega impressed with the Omega (well it wasn't in one of its periodic fault modes).  ;D

The car that my mig replaced was a grand cherokee 2.5td,that averaged around 27.5mpg on its american trip computer (4.0lt us gallons).
I quite liked it and it was epic off road but not that great on road,I much prefer the mig but will miss four wheel drive come winter if it snows again
