Anyone see Sundays edition of Top Gear? Absolute quality!!

I'm so pleased that I'm not the only dummy about when it comes to car mechanics and engines - Clarkson was bl**dy useless when it came to assembling the Caterham 7 - anything that couldn't be done without a hammer he couln't do.

Loved the scene where Stig stopped at the services and as Stig walked away from the driving game in the arcade, all the top 10 scores were Stig ;D ;D

Love or hate Clarkson, the show just gets better and better.

Sorry to spoil the illusion Bob, but a mate of mine was at Knockhill while they were filming it and they did little or no spannering on the car whatsoever. There was a team of Caterham mechanics in the wings doing most, if not all the fettling.

He did spot The Stig with his visor up at one point, but it was too brief a glimpse to recognise him.

I have to agree though, my life would be empty without TG!!

Only kidding. Yeh I guessed as much but still makes great entertainment :)

The caravan has got to be one of my favourite pieces, along with the amphibious ones they did last series (the ToyBota etc) - couldn't stop laughing.  I know its all set up, but still very entertaining...

OUCH!!!!! I've always told my son I'm a better driver than any top gear presenter... thanks top gear for putting it in concrete literally lol.

What was more worrying was ..they carried on with a bent towbar... well we were led to believe they did.

I think you'll find that it's Dunsfold Airfield in Surrey ;)

Yep.. bob.dent is right -

The programme is filmed at the Dunsfold Park Aerodrome in Surrey. The studio is inside a hangar where a standing audience is brought in each week. For the eighth series, the studio was remodelled. Dunsfold Park also includes a test track custom designed by Lotus, built on the airfield.

Dunsfold Aerodrome is where British Aerospace used to flight test aircraft such as the Harrier Jump Jet. The company closed its facility in 2002.

I've been swimming in that pool. Great old fashioned Lido (not many left now) in Chipping Norton - Clarkson's home town.

Top Gear is about the only thing on telly at the moment worth watching.

Whether or not the irritation between the three of them is set-up or not, it is very entertaining stuff!

Another vote for Top Gear being the best thing on TV at the moment, only thing that lets it down is
that some of it seems staged.

I think Top Gear is better than Fifth Gear but Top Gear is lacking VBH. ;) I also thought Jeremy Clarkson was the dogs twitcher until my daughter bought me one of his books now I think he is a moaning git.

lol, i saw VBH at Brands Hatch few months back think she was going to do some interviewing or something, saw her just walking from the car park to the track.

TBH, TV make up does a lot!! - She did't look all that great  :(

I think you'll find that most of what happens on the show is stage managed (a bit like American wrestling! ;D) but it makes for damn good entertainment. [smiley=thumbsup.gif]

Also, the way Clarkson & Co chuck the cars around ain't exactly how you're going to drive them on the road, but then that's the whole point of the show I guess - to show you what some cars are really capable of.

Right on the button there Jaime, if you want to watch a car review show, that's what 5th Gear is for.

Gotta be TG on both counts - you get to see some great cars being driven as the makers intended them to be and some top entertainment and comedy. 5th Gear is good but no where near as much fun to watch :)

i like TG, but was reading somewhere that they are seriously considering pulling the plug on it within the next year or so  >:(

The producer and JC want it to end on a high and not drag on to be some boring programme presented by old farts who are rattling on about cars that people are no longer interested in and they don't want it the comedy to go stale either.

Will be a shame if/when it goes, but all good things and all that...........

agreed.

I have it on good authority that the next series will be the last. They are also going to do even more stupidier things to try and get complaints just for the hell of it and then can it whilst it is at the top.

great show and would be a shame to see it go, but I understand the thinking behind it.

still the best show for me was the one where the mini was rocket propelled down the ski jump - quality  ;D
