General Discussion Area / Prof Neil Ferguson
« on: 06 May 2020, 21:55:36 »
Wildly wrong with his modelling of Avian Flu, Swine Flu, Foot & Mouth, BSE & Covid-19. His model went from predicting 500,000 UK Covid-19 deaths making the Government panic with the lockdown rather than healthy under 70's carrying on as normal & producing herd immunity & then modified his model with a lockdown & social distancing saying there would only be 20,000 deaths.

Pity he didn't stick to fu*king his mistress, instead of fu*king the UK & totally fu*king our economy with UK 6.3m furloughed plus the 1.25m unemployed, so currently 23% of the UK workforce aren't working, which doesn't include any of the 4m self-employed many of whom have no work. In 1933 unemployment peaked in the USA at 24% in their Great Depression.

This a a review of the Ferguson's code release where if you use the same random seed for a pseudo random number generator & the same assumptions you should get the same results. Even running it as a single core thread, you don't with one such test giving an 80,000 death discrepancy over an 80 day iteration. The confidence in being able to prove any scientific hypothesis is based on independent parties being able to repeat experiments and getting correlating results within the limits of quantifiable experimental errors. His model model results are junk science. >:(

https://lockdownsceptics.org/code-review-of-fergusons-model/

Initial randomised Covid-19 antibody tests in the USA are finding between x50 and x85 times the number of people with them for every confirmed Covid-19 case which gives a mortality rate between 2 and 3 per 1000 infected people, so slightly more dangerous than a slightly worse than average Influenza at 1 death per 1000 infections. Antibody tests in Germany, Italy & The Netherlands are getting similar results. The UK has no antibody tests as they are not happy with the current test's sensitivity & are holding out for better tests which they hope will become available sometime in June, later or maybe never. Until the UK Government have some UK antibody test results they are give the UK's economy with a £150,000,000,000-£200,000,000,000 per month economic hit, while running the lockdown policy on blind infection & mortality rate assumptions.

I don't expect Governments to get everything right in a crisis with anything over 50% of correct decisions being a good result. Sadly, IMV this Government seems to be falling well short of this number.

A client who I recommended move from his current hosting provider when his server needed updating instead decided to stay with them. It has bitten him bigtime (& unfortunately me) where he is losing everything from some traffic to all traffic from his direct sales but more importantly XML to a massive UK online retailer which generates the majority of his online sales. I can see we are losing some inbound XML data, but not all, by setting up a range of quotes on their system that I can identify as not arriving on our server & more traffic where the 3rd party are seeing my reply XML connections to them as being aborted partly through the sending of the XML data & this can be from about 20% to 100% so he is getting from reduced business to no business! >:(

1. How reliable are the NSX VM Edge Gateways & their software?
2. If you are not very competent, is it easy to miss-configure & then blame the H/W & S/W or are there genune issues?

I started speaking to Zen last week about moving but the current contract with his current supplier runs until the end of the year. I may have to recommend he goes to them for at least the XML feed in the short term & sees out the contract for the direct websites, as the money & gross profits he is losing is much, much bigger than the additional monthly server outlay, but of course it is still an outlay which reduces his profitability.

Whatever floats your boat, it's a pity it lost the fight against the ugly tree! :D

The Benn Act forces Boris Johnson through threats and coercion to ask for an Article 50 extension with him being threatened with court action, possible contempt proceedings and jail, where he has said he would rather be dead in a ditch than do so.

Watch the 5 minute video and then let us know your thoughts on whether it is compliant with Article 51 of the Treaty of Vienna which is known as the Treaty on treaties.

Yet again, cheating Vettel showing he has no class & karma can certainly be a bitch when it bites straight back. ;D ;D ;D Where he stopped so VSC was deployed it gave Mercedes a free pitstop & a race win and second.

Where Vettel is the error strewn past, Charles LeClerc is showing he is their future number one. Will Vettel be dumped at the end of the season or when his contract runs out at the end of 2020? ::)

General Discussion Area / Escalating violent retail crime
« on: 10 September 2019, 20:21:07 »
Where this country is descending towards South Africa in terms of violent crime & murder rates, where you are killed & then mugged as it is quicker & easier. In London a new trend is heading in that direction where they now tazer you & rob you so you can't fight back. >:( 25% of house burglaries in London are now carried when one or more resident is in the property where they target the old, disabled & ill. >:( London murder rates are now one every two to three days. >:(

Retailers are increasingly on the frontline with a rapid rise of violent shoplifting, attacks, threats & violent robberies, so for every 1000 shops there are now almost 1500 serious crimes against them each year. All of the political parties are soft on crime & its causes & the Tories are talking about no jail for any sentence of less than 6 months, I'm not sure anything will be done until we are like South Africa. >:(

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-49647749

Where I live in a small town of 20,000, burglaries are rising as is street crime & antisocial behaviour. I know several people that have had expensive cars stolen with wide area keys used, along with several almost new motorbikes. >:(

General Discussion Area / Corbyn-Hammond Pact

Just the latest attempt by the EU dictatorship to turn the UK into their first colony. Irony of this being the week of 80th anniversary of the Ribbentrop-Molotov 'Peace Treaty' which unleashed the joint dual invasion and joint elimination of Poland as a country so it becomes a Germanic-Russian colony, province & imperial plunder area is not lost on me. While the elimination of the UK as a country is being battled by those Poundland remainer imperialists in parliament who stand to gain by prossed EU lagress by turning the UK into a Germanic-French colony, EU province & EU imperialist area plunder area is not lost either. >:( >:( >:(

This week is a critical week for the survival of the UK and our democracy with the latest remainer shenanigans described here:

https://blogs.lse.ac.uk/brexit/2019/09/02/proponents-of-the-new-bill-to-stop-no-deal-face-a-significant-dilemma-over-queens-consent/

UK democracy is now on the line. Will Boris prevail and Brexit survive or will Corbyn Marxist vision prevail, with EU geopolitical help?

General Discussion Area / Accident prone Russian military
« on: 12 August 2019, 21:09:04 »
In the last two weeks there have been two spectacular ammo dump explosions, one through unknown causes & the other by a lightning strike & the failure of a missile test with an explosion & radiation leak that killed 5 scientists & 2 military observers with rumours there it was a failure of its lightweight nuclear reactor where it is the nuclear powered cruise missile that Putin has been recently bragging about. :o :o

...I had better replace it before the autumn.

Yesterday morning it was freezing where the radiators hadn't come on, so I had to turn it right up so they did & the same this morning although it wasn't as cold, but I had to turn it up even further to get the radiators hot.  ::) ::) ::)

He was very active last night from about 10pm until almost 3am this morning. Cloud to cloud lightening, plenty of thunder & loads of torrential rain. I do enjoy a good storm as long as I'm not out in it. 8) :y

STEMO has been sitting on the edge of his sofa, dashing out to get his dog trimmed, so he didn't miss this report, but fear not you didn't miss much as the effects span over 100's of millions of years. :P ;) ;D
