General Car Chat / oh drat

after 298k 29years of total abuse the last 5 with us,,including towing mobile homes, bumpstarting articulated trucks and hundreds of other tasks it should never have done
our 1986 mitsubishi 2.5td,engine finally cried enough, after picking up the mother inlaw from the airport and her calling it a heap, the engine expired in a big way at about 50mph tween colmenar and casabemeja, lol
I blame it on the ma in law calling mistsy a nasty name,!!
fact that i have had a short motor in reserve for over six months now has got nothing to do with it
so now oh joy over xmas i have to change the engine and i ant sure what damage it did to the gearbox when it went, as the box literally jumped up in the air inside the car when the motor blew,
followed by a horrendous grinding crunching noise, think the clutch exploded to be honest but will know when i strip the motor out,
merry christmas hurumph!

General Discussion Area / not been around much
« on: 11 October 2014, 10:37:50 »
Hi Guys,
not been on here or anywhere else for that matter, just not had the will to do it since dad died last month, he had been there all my life and now suddenly he aint, hell of a shock but slowly getting over it,still got to sort his estate and other problems but im doing that when i feel i can not when they want me to do it,
why he chose to kive in the depth of deepest norfolk was always beyond me,as its a nighmare to get there, however few days i was there on my own trying to sort things can see the appeal, people in the street always talked to you ,absolutley no parking wardens and everyone just parks where they want, no parking charges except in one carpark which is strangely under used ;D
very quiet and peaceful, but boy do you pay for it in prices! cheapest 10/40 oi i could find in the local shop was 32quid! yeouchl

Hi Guys, seriously considering buying a  merc estate 320 petrol very very cheap, according to the owner it only has first gear on the auto box, anyone come across this before on this model?
Im guessing maybe low fluid
selector switch
or an electronic interruption,
know the boxes are  bombproof mechanically :y
