General Discussion Area / Re: Parliament to be suspended
« on: 28 August 2019, 21:21:01 »
Any MP that signed off on article 50,then tried to stop Bexit which is basically what they were elected on, should be made to stand down and another by election held,

the problem is MP,s refusing to carry out what they voted for,

All credit to Boris for the sheer energy and sense of purpose he has given the country back!

EU latest threat & scam is saying that VAT should have been charged on derivatives issued by the City & the UK owes the commission £1 trillion. >:( >:( >:(

I think it will get very nasty for us with the EU, Merkel & Macron all trying to punish us. Saw a similar situation with Russian trade war with Ukraine which saw Russian balance of payments surplus disappear fast & Ukraine getting much good will & trade from other countries around the world, while Russia had sanctions & were largely shunned. Ukraine boycott of Russian good by checking barcode was very effective to the point the Russian companies tried to get away with it by using Austrian registered barcodes. :y

Many leave voters are already boycotting EU fresh produce & goods where possible. Wetherspoons now source all of the EU products from alternative ROW sources. :y

very true Rod, we spend a few mins every shop checking where the items are produced and only buy british goods, see a lot of people doing the same, so much so that a lovely old gentleman the other day said are you looking for uk strawberries? yes we are mrs replied, oh they are on the nearside lower shelf, not long to wait now and we are out! lol,got no idea who he was but 3 people heard him and went to the brit fruit!

When did you last hear a news bulletin which mentioned leaving the EU without a deal signed first which didn't present it as "crashing out" or "going over a cliff edge" ?
None of them would recognise objectivity or neutrality if it kicked them up the balloon knot.  ::)

all of them are so negative, drives me bonkers, same as they wont report on the yellow vests anymore,or the fact the hidden EU army(all the facemasked ones) are kicking the crap out of innocent bystanders, cannot understand why they dont start looking for positives, but that would entail something called work and research, instead of just copying everyone else!

pics on here somewhere (Terry Paget) I think? of  a carlton with a v8 around 300bhp,running a r28 box no problems so far and when Mot was passed on monday we celebrated by leaving 40yard twin black streaks on a private road that leads to the mot station,
the box does not complain at treatment like that, it will be doing track days as well :y

But I loved the car, once I got over the initial hatred I had for it. I was a first class pillock to sell it.

I'm sure your garage door thanked you for it, though.

Well, until.. <cough>  ::)
True, its a nice new opener, not vandalised by Omegatoy

personally I think that was a first class piece of engineering bodgery especially as it worked flawlessly on the engine, and still opened the garage door!! ;D

If Boris is convicted as I've written on Twitter #OpeningACanOfWorms as there are many other politicians who will regret their lies:

1. Blair/Campbell: Iraq dossier.

2. Osborne/Hammond/BOE/Treasury: Project fear.

3. PM May: Almost all she has ever said including: #BRINO is #Brexit, No deal is better than a bad deal, Leaving on 29th March etc.

4. Most Tories/Liebour politicians on their manifestos: We will implement the result of the EU referendum.

5. Change UK: Short changing the electorate by saying they are a new force in changing politics.

6. BBC: We are impartial as per our Royal Charter on Brexit & Climate Fraud Change.

7. Gordon McRuin: No more boom & bust.

8. Liebour: 48 hours to save the NHS.

9. Corbyn: IRA 'peace talks', Iran, Terrorist wreath, Hezbollah talks, not anti-semitic, paid Czech spy etc.

10. Nick Clegg: No student fees or loans.

11. Cameron: Lisbon treaty referendum.

12. Most MPs with their expenses.

13. 'Impartial' civil servants.

14. Crossrail / HS2: On time & within budget.

15. NHS & Police: Official statistics.

I'm sure you can think of many, many more.
makes you wonder why we elected them at all, Brexit party will change politics for ever I hope!

All who deserted their own party that they were elected with, should be made to hold local election to see if the electorate still want them!

General Car Chat / Re: SHELL
« on: 05 April 2019, 18:37:31 »
I notice a significant difference in range when using poverty spec derv as opposed to the V-Power version.  Depending on the right foot and traffic it can be as much as 60 miles difference on a full tank.

same on our diesel,so we only use shell now,but strangely, we used to use whatever was around in the rav4, BP,tesco, sainsburys, apple etc but then i had to put shell in as light was on, we always just chuck 30 quid in usually every friday, our mileage is almost every week very similar depending how many hospital visits swmbo has to endure,
its a habit for me to reset the trip every time we fill up,weird thing is following friday still had over a quarter tank instead of very low, and had noticed it had less pinking at low rpms in a high gear engine was very smooth on tickover and acceleration was crisper,so used shell again next time, and after 5 weeks of constant checking, it is giving us consistently better mpg, went back to bp and tried it for a week, not as good,so its now habit to use shell

« on: 05 April 2019, 18:25:49 »
glowplugs are reasonably easy to change, inlet off makes it easier, very surprised if it them at fault though,
does it have less than a quarter tank of diesel in it? very common cause of non start its pump in the tank failed or blocked
if it wont start at all now, grab a can of wd40,pull air filter pipe off and while someone is cranking it fire the wd into the pipe if it starts or fires its defo a fuel problem
