General Discussion Area / Zirk's Tip of the Day
« on: 22 August 2017, 19:58:23 »
Tip 1, Dont stick your fingers about an inch away from a karcher pressure washer nozzle when its on full chat.  :-[ :'( :(

Tip 2, Dont presure wash the under side of an Estate Rear Spoiler at close range. they become Airbourne afdter a few mins. :o :(

On a more positive note, the numbness and the feelings on me fingers are just starting to come back after an hour or two, and I think Ive just found a new way to remove a Prodrive rear spoiler from the Tailgate.  ::)

Omega General Help / Fitting Irmscher Back Box joint question
« on: 20 August 2017, 12:30:08 »
Fitting one this afternoon, I normally use some cement / sealant on joints but thinking forward may want to recover the back box in the future at some point without wrecking the joint, any other sealant or stuff I can use or just dont bother just clean and clamp it?

Hypothetically of course, bit like Desert Island Disk, but with Food.

Me, I think i would keep King Prawns, absolutely adore them, which is strange because I cant stand Shell Fish type foods (yea, I know there not shell fish, but you know what I mean), I just think Prawns are so versatile, eat them on there own, with garlic, Curries, Fruit etc.

Things I would miss most would have to be my Bacon and Sausages.

What would you keep and miss?

This came up in conversation last night with a few mates, and already it seems to be confusing folk as to exactly what is means.

I read it as, "the Sale of NEW Petrol and Diesel Cars and Vans by 2040", so, we'll still be running around in them, just not brand new ones, does that help the Environment?, probably not, what will happen though, long before then, is most major Cities in the UK leveling a "Pay to Enter" Emission Zones, meaning, Buy Electric, dont bother or I need to, I have no choice and end paying something like £100+ per day Charge or Fine to get to work every day.

Those that can afford a Brand New Electric Car will be better off, in every respect, those that cant, wont.

What about our existing Petrol and Diesels Cars and Vans made before 2040, will that make them more attractive and see an increase in their Value?, dont know, but guessing there will be some financial incentive to scrap as many as possible, probably incentives to off set the cost of a New Electric run around, nice if you afford it.

No mention of LPG, or LPG Electric Hybrids, Diesel Trucks, Lorries, Plant Hire etc, and whos going to invent these wonderfull Batteries by then to keep the UK Transport System moving, without stopping every few hours to re charge them.

Not sure if its the same as the Fuel feed Pipe to the Injector Rail, but the Return Pipe will do for me as I can get to it easerly without ripping Air flow Pipes off on a 2.2.

Pic below (Not a real Pic) may not need the whole pipe, if its been cut, just need the screw in part with enough rubber hose that I can bend and attach another hose to it. :y

Surname look up (free), if your name comes back as "English Variant of ie, XYZ" then search XYZ instead.

Mine comes back as a Maker of Cooper or Wooden Barrel for Beer or Spirit, formerly from Germany, Denmark, Swiss Borders, Hmm Beer,.... :)    they could be on to something there.  :y ;D

Someone who shall remain namesless has just filled the LPG Mig full with petrol  >:(, whilst the another Omega still has an empty tank. So, rather than fuff around Im thinking of disconnecting the fuel line from under the Penlium, extend the hose and point it into the other empty tank.

Meaning the fuel pump on the donor car is going to be runing full chat for about half to three quaters of a tank, taking care of course not to run the tank do dry so the pump is still covered with fuel.

Thoughts on over heating the pump?, or go back to plan B and fuff around.  :-\

Its the Half Price Advanced Tool Kit time again, but I thing I noticed and ordered was this handy 18 pc Set, which wont break the Bank for leaving in the Boot or the Second Car. :y

Reduced from £50 down to £12.50 plus another 3% off through TCB. Would be rude not to at that price  ;)

HU and SW Controls, does it go via the Canbus or is it controlled directly?

In other words if I pull out a HU and power it up on the Bench will it work with a removed Steering Wheel?
