I was thinking of going with the ABS,but I would think there's no chance  of getting a club ticket now,but I'm with them tomorrow at Cressing Temple and will see if there's a chance. :-\

If the weather forecast is favourable I'm likely to have a trundle down, but as the Elite won't be fixed in time it'll have to be as an "ordinary" day visitor as I'll be in the Volvo.

Agreed.  :y
I've been going on and off for donkeys years now and never bothered with a Club Ticket. Can't see the benefit really as the gate price has never been any more than a Club Ticket and I've never displayed a windscreen sticker.  :-\ I pay at the gate and then drive to the ABS area for a natter. I'm not in to displaying my car as that doesn't interest me but it has appeared on the ABS Facebox page, courtesy of James W.
Just turn up if you fancy a trip out Ken.  :y
I won't be there this year sadly as I have far too much on.

Don't know what the autojumble will be like this year as the new bod appoined to run all the car shows on the ground found out from his mate, cheif constable of northampton police, that there is an old bylaw banning any non trade sales on the ground. Vboa wil not tel us if this has been lifted despite repeated requests for info.
Many people only go for the jumble so it is to be seen if it has any effect on the gate sales for billing

Omega bits, haven't had an LC since 2006 so I passed all my spares on when I sold it. Trying to refresh my old silver Elite.

Is a silver pre-facelift Elite overy rare these days? I must admit, you don't seem to see many pre-facelift cars for sale period.

Once i have worked out what I need I probably will chuck up a wanted advert. Just trying to decide how much money I want to spend getting it back to it's former glory and whether it is worth it.

I'll be there on Sunday in my mega - Yankee352 a grey mica 3.0 Elite Saloon.

Should be on the ABS stand if I can get past the Stazi guards on check point Charlie making sure the cars are washed and clean inside and out and demanding membership numbers. Ausweiss bitte.

Which reminds me, must go see those nice polish guys at the car wash over the road.

Looks like I missed you all, apart from Baza and Keith! Sorry I did!  :-[

I understood one guy 'Malcolm' who has an LC/LO had a Tech2, but as I didn't know him didn't think it entirely 'proper' to walk up say 'hello, you don't know me, but fancy doing me a favour and programming my spare keyfobs, free, of course.'  :)

Malcolm's a friendly chap and I think he's on here and I don't think he would have minded

Went and spent Money with Keith, he has that affect on people,  ;D.
Lots of nice cars,  :y
Auto-bumble was  an Excuse, was lead to believe it was billing(hoaseasons) fault, and that this probably the last year of car based shows, (new broom and all), allegedly talks are being held to go to Peterborough show ground.

Oh, like 99% of OOF / ABS very friendly and decent, but I feel a bit awkward nonetheless. Didn't clock you, actually James? Didn't see a few faces I was looking forward to seeing, actually.

We made a bit of a whistle stop on the ABS stand and said a few quick hellos. Had a look at the other stands first and disappeared just before the hog roast.

I spent the sum total of £2 in the auto jumble.

Sorry I missed you

Finally managed to get there about 12.30ish,for various reasons got off to a late start.Still managed to meet up with some old friends[in every sense of the word ::)]and also had a chat with DBG-pleasure to meet you fella-always nice to be able to put a face to a name.If it's to move I too heard it was to do so Peterborough would be a handier as it's that bit closer to me although not by a huge amount,I had feared it might go a lot further south.

Can only repeat what you said, Mr Baza  :y a pleasure to meet you properly too. If you fancy doing the full weekend next time that means some sitting around, having a few cans late into the evening can happen, too, lots more time to chat.  :)

I reckon Lincoln showground would be another good one (for purely selfish reasons, I'll freely admit)  :)

Billing was a good event this despite the poor excuss of an autojumble. i personnaly think the reason was that the annual travelling community meet up was the weekend before. We missed them this year as Berni Eccelstone moved the Grand Prix a week, pushing us back a week. Thanks Bernie. The evenings/nights were quiet with only one firework being let off on saturday at 11.30pm and in a totelly unrelated event, an 08 plate Passat being rolled over near the swimming pool. Scorching weather and meet up with friends and aquaintences you only get to see once a year. Peterbourgh being mentioned all weekend by all car clubs so maybe it has some legs on it. All new commitee for the VBOA as well. So, lets see what they come up with

Yep, all in all I thoroughly enjoyed it, and thanks again for the hard work of all at the ABS who really made it, not least of all the free hog roasts and birthday cake, for their anniversary year; again, thanks for all the hard work all. Apart from Dave Waddington, who seemed to be sat on his arse all weekend, lazy sod.  ;)

I went too, just for a few hours on the Sunday.  Didn't take my car, rocked up in a mates Lotus Carlton.  It's been a few years since I last went, seemed a little quieter than normal but I still had a thoroughly good day!
