General Discussion Area / Wireless Routers
« on: 02 October 2013, 23:23:14 »
Do you use the one your provider gives you i.e. if your with BT a Home Hub 4 or whatever your provider calls their hub..

I'm getting fed-up with this HH4 from BT, Have been looking and there are many different types of routers out there..

Would something like this be any good for BT and for online gaming, streaming films from netflix and similar, HD content, general browsing etc.. ?

General Discussion Area / Need some Advice.
« on: 26 September 2013, 14:23:28 »
The bedroom TV has seen better days have been meaning to get a new TV for some time, But now it's knakered so I'm picking one up from Argos, Seen these two links below, It will mainly be used for PS3 games and BluRay's/DVDs and Netflix etc. Last TV I tried was last year a LG 32" Smart 3D TV which had lag and I couldn't see the 3D image so sent back and stuck to my old 22" HD Ready Toshiba.

So far these two are the contenders, Any more than 32" would be too big for the bedroom I'd emagine.

So far I'm leaning towards the Samsung..

Any recommendations ? Has to be Argos mind don't really want to go into why..

Thanks

Omega General Help / Self Leveling HIDs on Elite FL Omega..
« on: 14 September 2013, 22:27:52 »
Been out this evening first time in the dark for a long time driving since i got the car (2002 3.2 Elite Saloon), Between 20:30 - 22:00 roughly visiting someone, I noticed the main beam is in the trees very high, Dip seems a little high also, Well they must be by the amount of times i got flashed must have got flashed 10 times... Took a few pictures of the main/dip head-on some trees in front, I'll upload later.

Question: I'm fairly new to HIDs, So i presume there is (1) levelling sensor on the front and (1) on the rear somewhere, I've seen the front one, Can't remember if i saw one each side or not  :-\ (will check).. No idea where the rear sensor is, Near the wishbone maybe ?, Is there a way to tell they are working the sensors ?

I have read, Well skimmed through a few threads over the years now and again that the problem normally is the adjusters, Are they inside the headlight unit itself ?, Is it a doable job ?, what parts are recommended ?, Price ?...

Anything else it could be ?

Thanks
 :)

3 for the price of 2 on a already discounted product was £7.99 now £1 with the 3 for 2 offer on top. Have pre-ordered what's left at my local Halfords x10 bottles £79.90 worth for £9.00  :y

http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_storeId_10001_catalogId_10151_productId_241321_langId_-1_categoryId_165682

As far as I know this offer is for "Turtle Wax" and "AutoGlym" products... But not everything has been reduced to £1 though  :-\ and most stores will probably be sold out or low on stock, Best to reserve..

There's been a fair few offers on Halfords recently  ???

Best of luck...

General Discussion Area / Apple Event 10th September 2013
« on: 04 September 2013, 22:39:03 »
Here we go again  ::) 10/09/2013

Looking forward to iOS7 myself, But i very much doubt i'll get the iPhone 5S or 5C whatever it's going to be called unless it has something worthwhile with a "WOW" factor as I'm still happy with the iPhone 5 apart from battery life which hopefully iOS7 will cure doubtful i know but live in hope  ::).

Have heard rumours of a Apple Smart Watch to rival the Samsung watch and possibly a Apple TV (a actual TV not that little black box..)

any predictions ?

General Discussion Area / Nexus 4 8GB £159
« on: 31 August 2013, 21:34:40 »
Just seen this on another site.

Was £239 apparently. Now £159 That's cheap for a new smart phone with a decent spec  :o

Not for me though happy with an Apple. Might come in handy for someone  :y

Not bought anything from Play store so can't comment on how good they are.

Omega General Help / Water "Adams ale"
« on: 28 August 2013, 01:55:27 »
... What type To mix with antifreeze. I have hard water from the mains and my waterbut doesn't have a filter I could use a cloth or something as a filter possibly  :-\..

I'm planning on getting this Antifreeze.... Unless there's a better offer available at the time of purchase.

Comma SLA5L 5L Super Red Antifreeze and Coolant Concentrated
http://amazon.co.uk/dp/B00544L3M6

Also, I'm I correct in thinking boiling water from the tap and let it cool is distilled water of good enough quality ?

I'm going to attempt this on the Omega soon especially before winter...

Thanks
