Waxoyl Problem
« on: 07 September 2006, 15:29:54 »

Some of you may remember I Waxoyl'd my doors yesterday.

Well now I have a problem.

The drivers side was parked in the sun for about 4 hours today, the Waxoyl melted, dripped out, and has damaged this seal.

Does anyone know how to replace it please.

It looks worse in real life than it does in the picture, the Waxoyl has softened the rubber.

As Omegav6cd says see what its like in a couple of days......

Is there any waxoil left in the doors then ???

I did wonder what would happen watering the waxoil down, maybe its too thin now  :-/

I know you where concerned about blocking the water drains up with it, but it did cross my mind, why not just use it neat, then when its dried, poke summat small up the drain holes to make sure they are not blocked.

The instructions recommended thinning down before applying to small apartures.

I shall ignore the comment about dirt. :-?

Just an update, left the doors open for about 4 hours yesterday, just checked it again after it has been in the sun for about 3 hours. Everything seems fine now, drips have stopped.
