NCDC 2015 in Elite 3.2 switches on Emergency phone
« on: 27 July 2014, 22:07:42 »

:) NCDC 2015 switches emergency phone on when ignition is off and key out. Originally thought it was switching on radio but have now discoovered it switches phone on (Nokia). I removed the sim and just sat in the car until it came on again so sim has no effect.  Any ideas?

Is it saying (from memory) something like, emergency calls only or make an emergency call?, there is a difference, any GSM spec type phone will make a emergency call, even though there is no sim inserted or its been black listed (reported as stolen etc) or is it asking you whether you want to make an SOS call?

Either way, assuming the two buttons aren't stuck, one on the HU other on telemactics,(glove box full of crap?) think I would probably knock off the battery for 24 hours or remove the HU supply for a while.

Emergency number can be triggered by faulty signal from airbag ECU. Unit us designed to call emergency number when airbags deployed.

Seen similar when the unit just constantly tries (and flattens battery in process). In some cases, its fault codes in the srs ecu, sometimes its just a faulty telematics (and not stuck switches either!)

What about if I get the ignition re-wired so that when that is turned off it also turns off the power to the Phone. The window which appears asks if I want to call the emergency No Yes or No. Stays on for 30 secs.

Might be worth getting it plugged in to a decent code reader to see what codes are in the SRS ECU.

Have you replaced the seats at any time, or taken the passenger seat apart?
