Omega General Help / Knocking from the left front when steering on MY 2000 omega
« on: 21 December 2014, 00:42:58 »
Hello everyone and merry christmas!
Anyhow, there's been some knocking sound from my left front. Appears when steering. Had the car on a carlift yesterday and didn't find any dramatic looseness on any of the different joints in the front end when I tried to locate it.
droplinks seem fine, I changed them last year and the noise isn't similar to them.
Wheels turn with ease, maybe a little sound when going past some steering angle.
So, I have a feeling that the top bearings from the suspension strut(s) is (are) giving up. I have had this noise come and go intermittent earlier, but mainly when moving the car after a long stop.
Anyhow, am I on the right tracks here? Also, good advices on troubleshooting are more than welcome, might even help some other poor bastard out there with the same problem
If it's any use, the mileage is 230 tkm atm, might help narrowing down the culprit here
