a good days work....
« on: 18 August 2006, 19:17:58 »

done a lot today:

Firsly went to the scrap yard to get some bits, sorry markjay could not get your ash tray. Taxi Driver - I got a rear passenger ash tray, but the drivers side one was gone  :( - Got some ciggy lighter things though.

MadonVaux - I got your facelift mirror glass, mint condition no scratches or anything!!

MarksDTM - Sorry no headlight washers there...

I got a Vx Radio for a fiver, shoved that in ProjB.... does't work but makes the dash look a whole lot better.

Also i got a standard internal mirror and indictator stalk.... why?? - Well ProjB has an auto-dimming mirror so going to flog that on eBay ... unless anyone else wants it??

Decided to take the cruise stalk off ProjB and keep that for my facelift, many thanks to TheBoy for enabling my cruise!  :D

Gave ProjB a good clean, inside and out. Bodywork came up a treat, bit of bumper to black stuff and should look good:

For what you will get for it, I would keep the mirror on Elite if you fix the seats. Also, keep the cruise on the Elite if it works...  ...stalks aren't expensive second hand.

I would't have thought people would notice, the guy who bought my '98 Reflection looked at the Aux belt and said...'cambelt looks good'

Cruise stalk is already on my facelift, tested & working.... again not sure if people would notice??

I am watching a Haynes book on eBay, can't find the manual lever for the leccy seats, all the connections seam good  :-/

Would have thought so... but most of the eletrics are dead....

Its below the min mark...had been stationaly for a while, but i ran it for a few mins and checked again. But still low

Agreed about missing bits. I doubt anyone will notice the auto-dimming mirror unless they really know there elites.

Also i don't think it worked.... since most in of the leccy bits inside don't work.

my aim is to re-coupe things like train fair and other bits by selling the valuble bits... that won't generally be noticed.

When i got ProjA i thought it would be better with numbers as not to confuse them with Ronnies (dunno how but made mine differnt)

Ermmm you could do phonetic? Alpha, Bravo, Charlie ect....

Or you could go like Eddie Stobart and name them after girls?? - Project - Nikki

Use letters and numbers like the United Federation of Planets do, a la NCC-1701D.

Or, Klingon?

Or even better, Scots....Nummer Wan.  ;D

Mate I don't mean to rock the apple cart, but just to let you know that, if I was a potential buyer, I  would walk away from an elite without cruise :)

Might benefir you to leave it intact, and focus more on sorting the tapping - once that's done it looks tidy...

I agree with leaving the cruise on - if it is working, or remove it completely if it isn't. You could blag the cruise because it is a manual box - sort of. Rear mirror you can get away with.

I would leave cruise on personally. If you get the seats working, I would put the proper mirror back on as well (they are only £10 - £20 from ebay - theres one on there BIN £19.99)

think you might be right, thinking about it when advertising an elite on autotrader, what can i list that would seperate it from a CDX or CD....

Think i will stick the cruise stalk back on, its slightly nakered anyway (constantant full beam does't work)

I really like that Diesel one you gave me, it has a nice soft touch for indicating and all its main functions work. I take it there is no point trying to make it work for a petrol?

Nope, it would mean stripping the stalk completely, taking out resistor network etc.  Sell it on fleabay - the diesell stalks aren't as common.  (Buyer may need to get cruise enabled in ECU - never checked a diesel to see if preenabled  or not)

No, I don't need. Sell it to cover cost of proper stalk.  At least we know you only need stalk, and that we got ecu enabled eventually...

There is no manual lever, you should have a bit of kit; like a little brace; for moving the seats when the electrics aren't working.

All that came with the car, is the key, mot & log book!
