Can I use an a-frame for collecting cars from auction to take home and sell on?

I have been told that they can only be used by professional recovery companies, not private individuals.

I know I will have to get an extension to my driving licence as I passed my test in jun97 I have one of the first restricted licences.

I just want some clarification on this.

Any advice?

Your better off getting a car trailer mate.

With an A frame, the towed car needs to be taxed and insured and as the car will probably be over 750kg, a braked trailer will be needed.  :y

I am sure I will be corrected if I am wrong

thats right mate. after 750 kg you need a breaked trailer

And because of your licence your shafted too!  :( :( :(

If you take the extra towing test, let me know how you get on and what it involves, I will have to do that sooner rather than later I guess  :'( :'(

thats right mate. after 750 kg you need a breaked trailer

I would prefer a trailer, but I dont have the space, hence the a-frame idea.

Oh well, guess I'll need to move house then.

Hang on, what about a tow dolly?, can you get braked versions of those?
