Outside temperature sensor / ecc
« on: 29 May 2016, 14:45:40 »

When the CID/MID is removed the outside temperature sensor is not working anymore and also the heater/ecc will not work properly.

Pin 2 off the CID/MID provide the outside temperature sensor ground signal so I connected pin 2 (32 pin plug) to ground and the heater/ecc is still not working.
Fault code on the ecc is voltage to high or to low.

On pin 3 of the CID/MID provides the outside temperature sensor the temp signal and this signal also goes to ecc.
When this pin 3 (32 pin plug) is left open the ecc is not working, so I need to do something with this but not sure exactly what.

Anyone?

Refit a display... presume old one was removed as part of an audio upgrade... fit a MID with the same colour plug (grey or yellow) along with a new wiper stalk with the mid controls and you'll be sorted :y

Not a option, if possibly display will be permanently removed.

The display monitors the resistance of the outside sensor and then generates a voltage to send to the climate control panel. If you want to keep the climate happy you will have to do one of the following
1. keep the display (hide it behind the instruments?)
2. create your own circuit to read the sensor and generate the correct voltage
3. generate a fixed voltage that corresponds to a real world temperature (say 10 degC)
