Done one trip to Barry Island earlier ..........
Gimme a Class 150 Sprinter and 570 of Mr Cummins best horses any day Mr DTM!

wow, good find mark, brings back memories. i went in 87 & 88, alot less loco,s(22 actually) but in a very very sad state. i found it a strange place to visit, it was almost haunting, a true graveyard of steam. :'(

D6122 and D601 were there when I went - both last of class both now scrapped

That takes me back to when I visited Barry in the late 1970s.  Thank God, and Dai Woodham, that the vasy majority were saved 8-) 8-) 8-) 8-) 8-) 8-)

That brings back memories. Was a student at Cardiff (UWIST) University back in the late seventies and lived at some halls of residence out at Barry.

Spent many a weekend exploring the site. An amazing experience and the steam preservation industry has a lot to thank Dai Woodham for. :)
