Hello
Does anyone know what the difference the fuel economy is between a 2.6 and 3.2 would be. The reason being i would eventually like to get a 3.2 estate if the correct one came up.

Hello all. I have noticed that the back box on my car is in need of replacing. I would like to replace it with one that is a bit more throaty but which one do i get? Has anyone got any advice and is it possible to change this myself being a cheapskate .

Omega General Help / MAF Sensor

Hello all
After spending an afternoon at Kevins getting my car gearbox upgraded which has made a big improvement to the car all thanks to Kevin we did come across a fault with the MAF sensor. Tried to clean it but it looks like i will have to purchase a new one . The question is does anyone now where to get one apart from Vauxhall which i am sure will rip me off.

Omega General Help / Gearbox advice

Hello all.I have a 2.6 2001 cdx estate and i believe the gearbox on this is sealed and no oil change is needed. The thing is it has done 115000 miles and i use it for towing quite  a bit. The changes are still smooth but i would like to do an oil change if possible or am ijust wasting my time :-/.Any advice would be welcome.

Omega General Help / Passed MOT but...

Hello everyone. Today i took my Omega in for an MOT and it passed but had an Advisory Notice on the Nearside Steering pivot point has slight play [2.2.b.1g] :-?. Has anyone had this problem before and what is involved getting it repaired. I am glad it passed but being so careful with my car i hate anything being wrong with it and would like to fix it myself if possible.

Hi ya .
Does anyone know if we get a discount on Vauxhall parts. I am looking at changing my cambelt and water pump  soon and my local vauxhall dealership are Quoting £121.00 + vat for the kit and £40.70 + vat for the water pump.

Omega General Help / Starting

Ok,my wife was driving home last night stopped at the traffic lights and when she put the car into drive it stalled and would not restart. It has had trouble hot starting when driven for a couple of hours with the caravan but when it has cooled down it has been fine. Last night it was only driven for two miles before it stopped at the lights and wouldn't restart. After we had managed to push it down a side street and left it for 10mins it started fine. The car is turning over but not firing until it is cooled down. Now i had been thinking about replacing the crank sensor so i had purchased a new one from Vauxhall and took it over to a friend mechanic  of mine last night to get it fitted. We connected the new one up and the car would not start(could be a faulty new part) so connected the old one back up and it started .So what could the problem be?Checked the fault codes on the scanner and it comes up with no faults present :-?Could it be that the sensor supplied is actually faulty(new one coming tommorrow) or immobiliser playing up,but when warm!! :-?.New battery fitted two months ago so that is fine.

Ok here goes. Just got back from a trip this weekend pulling my caravan with my 2.6 estate.Everything working fine until i took the caravan off the car then went to move the car and it wouldn,t start. It would turn over but would not fire up even thou i tried putting my foot down on the accelerator then letting it off slowly .After the car had cooled down no problem and fired up first time .This also happened when i got home, again same thing. No fault codes showing up and the car is running lovely apart from the hot starting.This dosen,t happen if the car has been run without towing. Can anyone please suggest what the problem is. It has a new battery fitted also.

Omega General Help / LPG Conversion

Ok the price of petrol has now got very expensive and being the tightass that i am i would like to convert to LPG.
The only  problems i can think off is mainly the price to convert and the space a tank would take up.
A company has quoted £2200 to convert. Has anyone had their Omega done and where did they place the tank?

Newbie Welcome Area / Update my car Stereo

Hello to everyone
I am new to the site and have a 2001 CDX Omega estate.The car is fitted with a CDR2005 stereo but the reception i get from it is rubbish,only picks up radio 1 clearly and am looking to update it to a CCRT 2008.Will this be able to slot straight in and will i still be able to use the steering controls for the radio etc. Finally does anyone know where i can pickup a CCRT2008 stereo from.

After Kevin checked the car over with his Tech2 it was obvious that a new MAF sensor is required.
So i am looking for one off a 2.6 or 3.2 Omega as i think these are the same.
If anyone has a known good one for sale and not a pattern one they would like to part with please contact me.
