6 month MOT extension if MOT is due after 30th March

My MOT  runs out on the 14th April but I am due to take it in today at four.

Best to cancel for 6 months free MOT?
depends how you feel about it, as to how safe your car is  , and if there is a MOT cancellation charge
if you want to keep journeys to a minimum ,you could leave it
the tester may have a cough ,you might have covid 19 and feel fine  :-\
but you just replied anyway  ;D

This move must be manner from heaven for people who own a wreck that has no chance of passing the test.......and I hope I don't meet them on the road.

The Signum is is good order though so I'm happy to exploit the opportunity. :y
Terry can now drive around in his rusty omega for a further six month.  ;D

Woohoo.

Got one that expires in early Sept and the Omega at the end of July, so no immediate benefit, but gives me almost a year to ponder getting two death-traps road legal   ::)

Now I wonder if they can be persuaded to extend car tax by 6 months too - in order to avoid everyone queuing up at the post office with their documents  :D Where's that pigs might fly emoji.

I haven't for years now so easy on line, as is transferring or retaining a personal number plate.

Mine was due in July, but seeing as how it needs a grand spent just to cover whatever is known to be wrong with it (and make it run), it will never be on the road again...  :-X

I paid £460 for it, mechanically it is perfect... drove beautifully. Got a week out of it and the electronic ignition shat itself. Not worth fixing. Shit happens, life moves on...  ::)

The ignition module is definitely toast, it's all the modules that it talks to that may/may not have been changed when a second hand one was coded to the car... And the more digging, the more suspect the car becomes.

It was bought as a project with a few obvious issues (screen and some trim issues) with the intention of MoTing it and chopping it in for a keeper later in the summer... Bat Flu has stuffed that plan.
