Omega Electrical and Audio Help / What battery ?
« on: 28 February 2011, 16:20:20 »
I've domne a search but cannot find any references to what size battery a 2000 F/L Elite should have. The owners manual says 85ah but the car has a 70ah fitted (which may explain why it went flat !!). Do I go with the manual or do you chaps have better advice ?

All suggestions (clean please) welcome.

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / CD flap on ncdc 2013
« on: 15 June 2010, 16:37:21 »
Is it possible to fix the flap to the \cd plsyer on this stereo or do I have to live with it broken?  It appears that the right hand side (sitting in drivers seat) has come adrift. The CD player itself works perfectly.

Can anyone tell me whether the door solenoids on the facelift Omega are all the same. i.e. does a rear solenoid also fit the front ?

Thanks

Morning Guys, is anyone in the Hemel Hempstead area available to do a cambelt and oil change on my 2000 V6 Elite ? Just been quoted a huge amount by the local dealer.

Omega General Help / Stalling omega

Hi

I have just bought a 99 'S' plate 2.5 CD. It has a large amount of history which has included rocker cover gaskets, Idle control, crank sensor, dis pack, leads and cats.

I love the car but it has a minor problem - it cuts out.

Some mornings it is hard to start and others it fires first time. Some days it will run perfectly, others it will cut out.

The cutting out gives no warning, the engine just stops. No warning lights before the event and it will start immediately after.

Any ideas gratefully received.

John

Hi Guys

New member from cavweb. Just bought a 99 'S' plate V6 2.5 CD in flame red. 154k miles and £900. Large amounts of history but no cambelt change listed. First job on the list along with oil and filter.

Has a slight problem. Cuts out randomly and sometimes hard to start.

Still, its a brilliant car.

Look forward to chatting.

General Car Chat / Just like to say ....
« on: 18 April 2011, 15:36:17 »
Just waved goodbye to probably one of the nicest people I have ever met. I am talking about Darth who has just completed a cambelt, water pump, aux belt and oil change with a level of professionalism you don't seem to get nowadays. I can even forgive the interminable Rick Astley the superb job he has done. I am disappointed that he wouldn't swap his gorgeous Jaguar Sovereign for my Elite but that's life. Anyway, if anyone needs work doing then Darth is your man  :) :) :) :) :)

General Car Chat / Wandering car ?
« on: 22 February 2011, 14:44:37 »
I've just changed my wheels from the standard Elite to oxigin 1. The wheels themselves look terrific but they came with Avon ZZ3 tyres which had done less than 2000 miles. The problem I have is that one of the tyres had a slightly worn outside edge and the car now tramlines like a goodun. Before the change the car drove in a dead straight line no matter what the road surface. I currently have the worn one on the nearside front. My question is, would moving the wheel to the nearside rear (they are directional) be the best bet or should I change the tyre. I can't afford to replace all 4 which is what I would have like to have done.
