Took the XJ on a ploughing lesson. It was muddier and wetter than it looked. Now it needs a wash.

Hopefully it will rain tonight, heavy. Might save me a job.

I quite often wait till it rains ,go out and sponge a bucket of shampoo/warm water over the cars and let the rain wash it off  ;D

Threw the new fuel pump in and slapped it all back together.

Seems to be fixed, but real test will be if it gets me to work on Monday...

A bit of tidying up underneath where I welded up the spare wheel well, cleaned off some surface rust from around the rear underside while I was there. Then sprayed all around it with Supertrol.
Removed plastic sill covers expecting to find serious rust holes. Pleasantly surprised to find some surface rust but nothing serious, so have ordered another bottle of Bilthamber hydrate 80 to treat it with and will then put stonechip over the top and replace the sill covers.
Just need to inspect around the front chassis legs now and hopefully find nothing serious there either.

Discovered that the sh!troen tailgate let's in (and stores) water and dumps it into the boot upon opening.

Thankfully it only does it when parked facing downhill, meaning I have been able to apply an immediate and cost effective fix.  ;)

That water might come in handy when the electrics in there start to short out as they did on my mate's. ;D

Abandoned it at the Thistle Heathrow hotel .. what an absolute shithole that is! Built in the 1960s and, by the looks of it, last decorated then, too.. pretty sure that's also when they last cleaned the bathrooms, and I assume people were only 4' tall in the 60s as the shower head is at chest height ;D

Caught a flight to Paris and proposed in front of the Sacre Coeur.

Flew home three days later and drove it back home again.

I think the important bit was the bit in the middle ;D
