1998 S 2.5 Elite now NOT for spares/repair
« on: 26 January 2010, 18:14:30 »

NO LONGER FOR SALE

Bad news today from the garage - the Elite isn't going to be economic for me to MoT - looks like I was sold a dud.  :'( :'(

For the MoT it needs

Rear shock absorber
Both front wishbone bushes
Both front brake discs
Both rear brake pads

On top of that it is due for a full service and cambelt kit.

Drivers seat heater doesn't work
Front headlight adjust sensor needs replacing
Drivers door solenoid needs replacing

I've been quoted nearly £1300 for total repairs which I simply don't have, so the car has to go with much regret.  :'(

The MoT runs out on 21 Feb 2010 (and tax on 28 Feb) and it hasn't been put through the test yet so this is still valid.

It has full history up to 91k, and is now on 123k.

2.5 V6
Leather interior

Here are the pics:

Will take £250 or offers for it.

I'd rather one of you guys had it and did it up rather than fleeceBay it, so at the moment it's only advertised on here.

If anyone does want it for spares all the electrics work (apart from the driver seat heater), that includes the Bose system, rear blind, seat adjustment and all passenger seat heaters (front & rear).

It is worth more as spares but 1300 to fix up is ridiculous, and bodywork seems far to good to chop up :y

Do you think it may be worth contacting Daz or Tunnie to do the work? I really wanted to keep this car it's the best I've had for years.

Definately give Daz a PM its far to good to scrap, you get 250 for spares and then what rather spend 500 of your own on the devil you know so to speak than 750 on something unknown.

If you PM tunnie don't forget to spell check correctly  ;D ;D :-X :-X

Cheers Rob you're a star. I found Daz in the end, the search engine was playing silly buggers. I've PM'ed him now so hopefully he or Pete can do the work. £500 would be much better and a bit nearer to what I can afford!

Fingers crossed  :y

Good choice, and Pete. Both have worked on my car :y You'll get a top job done there, by either of them.

Yes I've heard plenty of good stories. Any tips for things to watch out for on Daz's farm? He's already warned me about the Pot Noodle.
