Not all makes have pre drilled holes for the bracket for the headlight levelling sensor on the n/s wishbone.

Indeed, as for mine the genuine ones from Vauxhall, pre-bushed, have the numbers: 090576788

they are called by Vx "Control Arm's" and are expensive, as TC is now not applied to them although my dealer gave me a 10% discount!! :o :o :D ;)

A used pair of genuine wishbones refurbed with polybushes etc. would cost around £150 and do a better job, but we all make our own choices. :)

Absolutely ridiculous spending that money on GM bones (made by Lemforder), far better with a new pair of Lemforders or refurbished original GM's and a pair of powerflex front bushes. The rest of the money is a good way on the journey to Shocks, springs, droplinks, top mounts, bearings.... Which will all need doing on any Omega that hasn't had a front end rebuild now.
No surprise about parts being in Germany as all parts stock for cars over eight years from production that aren't used in anything newer are stored in Opel's German storage centre as no VX storage facility in Blighty...

That's a crazy price for 2 wishbones even at GM prices,and you've had a 10% discount.
I was luck and got a set of Lemforders off ebay for £85 which included the droplinks..guy was selling off as had sold his Omega.Paid another £60 for polybushes and then bought TRE from Jason again Lemforders for sub £100.
Think your having you leg lifted there Lizzie :o

Fully accept that ,just advise as to how you could get the same parts for considerably less.
I like a good red wine ,but would never consider buying a bottle of " Domaine Leroy Richebourg Grand Cru 1949 "even if I could afford it .
A decent £20 bottle does the same and the pain of the purchase is less ;D

Indeed, as a result of all the feedback I will be asking my Vx dealer parts manager how come they ARE so expensive!! ??? ???
I am no fool, so I am going to do some digging on this; the dealer has still to satisfy on the labour price, so the deal is not completely done yet :D :D ;)
I know I could get two Lemforder control arms, fully bushed for £340. :-X :-X

Best advise then is to spend £340 on the bones..£100 on the belt kit and another £50 on a water pump .Factor in the labour and see how many more handbags and pairs of shoes you could buy...…..and have your Omega still in perfect working order

Vauxhall don't make handbags ,so finding a genuine OEM vauxhall one may be hard :-\
they don't even have them made by someone else,then stick vauxhall stickers on and charge ten times the original price :P
they do make shoes though ,they go inside the rear drums and are part of the handbrake mechanism ,but if fitted correctly and adjusted correctly and used correctly ,they should last 100k + :y

Then spend the balance on uprated front dampers, stiffer springs, Monaro top mounts and bearings - better handling than a new Omega. 8)

And still cash over to buy a genuine GM Bag or 2 + a set of "Shoes"...as Dave so wisely advised :y

I would source them from a reputable supplier, if that was the route I was taking. Obviously, I would much rather refurb my existing GM ones if they were still serviceable. Hence, TBE is on original GMs. Granted, its on its 3rd or 4th set of rear bushes, and is poly'd at the front.

Is the supplier Mister Auto online parts or the supplier that DG is recommending not to be trusted, or is it another?
Are the Lemforder arms the ones fitted by GM / Vx, or is it another brand?
From what TB says is it still best for me to pay the money (although questioning the parts manager about the price) at the Vx dealer to get the guarantee of quality and a genuine part?

Not used Mister Auto, but have seen ATP wishbones (poor) and tried to use ATP (never posted the boot struts).
If your current wishbones are GM and have good balljoints, stop dicking around, poly the fronts (£50) and press new GM bushes (about £20 each) in the rear, then take if for a full geometry check (not 4 wheel alignment or "laser alignment" of any other substandard tosh) to WIM settings, then worry about the rearward bushes again in 3 to 4yrs (probably much longer, as you clearly don't use the cars capabilities).
If you *MUST* have shiny wishbones, GM are too expensive (and you should be able to negotiate significantly better than 10%), so your choice probably becomes Lemforder from a reputable supplier (too many fakes about).

The guys there also know how to use the machine properly and as they have dealt with several fussy Omega Owners over the years don't try fobbing you off with..." its in the Green so that's ok Guv". :)

How near to Witham (Essex) are you, Kate? Albs and I have had excellent service from Tyre-Smart with their Hunter full geometric alignment machine, using the WIM settings that I gave them, similar to what amba just said. :y

That's correct Lizzie although quality of operatives and knowledge of how to use it differ hugely from 1 branch to another.
I have used the place on the Orbital Park near you by MacDogbits and found them pretty shoddy tbh. :(
Their policy was Green was good enough and when I asked them to set it at specific settings guy said he could due to wear in bushes and old joints...that was total b***lxs as all parts had just been replaced.They may of changed now though as that was 6/7 years ago now and you seem a forcefull lady so imagine they will do as you tell them to ;D

A plan is now coming together. I'm going to Vx tommorrow and forcing my hand on the parts. We will see if they budge, but they know I am a very good long term customer :D ;)

They're not afraid of making the adjustments either; the last time I had my car done,he just got on with freeing off and adjusting the rear adjusters after we both decided that the front cambers were slightly off WIM's recommended setting but as they'd been like that for 4 years we weren't going to disturb them.

Lemforder are now part of the ZF group, based in Germany. They manufacture quality parts for both aftermarket and OE. Sadly, because of their name and reputation, there are a lot of fakes around.
