Possibly, but double check that it has the mountings for the external oil cooler... not all the cheapy ones do :-\

That seems very cheap for an Omega rad - personally I would be a little wary (read the guy's neg and neutral feedback).

Just fitted a new one to the 2.6 Estate (the orig GM one had stressed cracked around the top sensor mount) - cost £100 delivered next day and from a company I have used a few times before.  Good quality and fit.

They also sell through eBay :y No issues here either, although I always find rads a tight fit around the aircon plumbing/chassis rails :-\

I think it depends on the bracketry for the external auto box cooler on the 3.2 which isn't present on the 2.5-3.0

Try and locate a Behr radiator, they are a major german brand, and supply to vauxhall oe and other car manufacturers, probably pay around £90 - 100.

Second vote for car cooling - excellent service and good product. I would ring and talk to them rather than ordering online though.

Well, ended up having to ring Car Cooling back 4 times this afternoon because they didn't return my calls when they said they would  >:( >:(
Also spoke to a local firm who said that both of there suppliers have stopped supplying the one with the brackets

This could be a problem for those with auto 3.2 omegas  :(

I'll carry on searching and report back if I find anything

Have you still got the details for that one Shack ?

Car cooling has finally got back to me and it looks like i'm sorted but it would be handy if these things are going to get rare  :)

For reference but after the fun they had finding one, best to check,  the Car Cooling ident number is ................ 12OLL437 (that's a "o" not a zero)

After a charm offensive by moi, I knocked them down to £97.56

Also ring this number AFTER 15:30 if you want to talk to them

I haven't got a make, but it was 127.19 from CAF, but it was a bit of a distress purchase having been let down elsewhere. I was concerned about the lack of a separate cooler, and, like you, was unable to source a correct one other than VX, but have had no problems, and I guess as long as the rad temp sensor works properly, the temp gauge should indicate the overall temps. :y

I have a 3.0L auto rad in my 3.2.
To fit you need the 2 banjo bolts and two steel pipes that are bolted to the inbilt cooler on a 3.0L
That is the only difference, also noticed, that the car runs cooler with the 3.0L rad. :y

Looks like it :y

You can ignore the two internal cooler connections on the rear right hand side :y

The two threaded holes on the left for the thermoswitches have covers on by the look of it :y

Right, i've just removed the old radiator and laid them along side each other.

The new radiator Doesn't have the pipe exits for the rubber pipe that goes from the top (as you face the car) left across via the aux pump to the right  :'(

Can this be removed and the pump be left connected to ensure electrical continuity ??

That's the wrong rad then... :-\

I didn't spot that when I looked at the pics yesterday :-[ I was focusing on the external oil cooler mounts as they're usually what is missing...

Sounds like it might be a 3.0 rad rather than the 2.6/3.2 one :-\

That pump helps force coolant across the rad when the car gets hot, without it you run the risk of cooking the car in traffic/warmer weather :-\

If you fit it without the pump/hoses then leave the pump unplugged, as having it running dry will do more harm than good.

Kin ell, don't worry about that mate, just happy for the advise  :)

Question is, this new rad has to go in because the old one took some serious abuse on the way out and its highly likely it will really leak now  >:(
My thinking is that I can fit the fan to the new radiator and leave these 2 20mm pipes disconnected  :-\
Problem is, what does that aux pump do that's fitted to the fan frame ?
Looking at it, it recirculates the water around the radiator as a part of the climate  :-\

What do you lot think ?

Okay, i'm a slow at typing   :-[

Does that pump run all the time the engine is running ?
If so, I can stick 12 volts on it

Not sure, think it my be controlled, via a relay, by one of the two thermoswitches on the battery end :-\

If you're fitting the rad, then leave the pump/hoses off, and keep a close eye on the temp gauge, use the climate settings/window or two to regulate the engine temp...

ie gauge rises... heater temp to hi, fan on... car gets too hot inside... open window...

Shouldn't be a big issue through the winter though :y

Yup, that's the cunning plan
I've got a level 2 counter balance  forklift course mon - fri next week so its a 30 mile round trip everyday.
If I do it on bus, its 3 busses and a 6am start plus the missus ends up in the shite for work too  :(
There is a good old school radiator place here in hull so i'll drop the knackered rad off and see if they can re core it for a reasonable sum then sell this one that those tossers sent me to try and get some money back  >:(

Friggin ell, i'm pissed off.
I must have been a real bastard in a past life to suffer like this  ::)

Correct 2.6 / 3.2 radiator is:-

http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/index.php?topic=125991.msg1606925#msg1606925

Yep thats the one I got for the 2.6 - no issues fitting it.  Correct part no is 12OL456 - part no Mr Gonads quoted (12OL437) is not even listed as an Omega rad :o  Should have followed my link earlier in this thread or VXL V6s - both link to correct part for your car ;)

I used that link as a reference.
Car Cooling told me they have very recently changed suppliers and everything had changed.
While I was on the phone, he rang 2 other suppliers who said the same thing.
He then rang somebody who had dealt with the same problem and that where this radiator came from.
Also, when I rang my local specialists, he said they where no longer listed in both of his catalogues.

Well the rad is back in the box and i'll be on the phone for a full refund tomorrow morning >:(

The knackered rad is going to a radiator specialists who are reasonably local to me in morning by "dad's taxi and delivery service"
I've used them many years ago and the old ma knows them from his old job so I might even get a discount  :D

Appreciate the links lads but said earlier in the topic, I think we may have to be carful when we replace our rads  :)

Well as in the world of Gonads, the original rad is totally knackered with a nice fracture / crack on the plastic near the bracket mount  :(

SO there I am on the phone to get my money back WHEN YOU GUESSED IT, the man says ............. can I ring you back  >:(

10 minutes later, the man comes clean and says, NOW I KNOW WHICH ONE IT IS  ::) ::)
Great I say, get it in the post please  :)
Then the man says, OH SORRY BUT I'VE MADE A MISTAKE  >:( I GOT IT WRONG AND THE PART NUMBER YOU GAVE ME LAST THURSDAY IS THE ONE YOU WANT  >:( >:( >:(
Jesus Christ, I must be the most unlucky bloke on the planet  :'(

So apologies to the lads who did the leg work on this but when the man on the phone insists your wrong because he has just changed suppliers and HE has all the information in front of him .................. well you know the rest  :-X :-X

Pished off isn't the word for it  :(
Sat on 2 busses this morning and 2 to get back and I will end up suffering it until the weekend  >:(
All I can say is, I hope the right one comes this time or I think I may end up getting into trouble  :-X :-X

IF it turns out to be the right one, i'll post all details I have on here for future reference  :y

Well, i'd thought i'd stick a update on this saga for you all to giggle at  ::) ;D

Well, Gerrard, the man at Carcooling was true to his word and sorted out the right part and got into the post for me  :y :y

Here is the good big .............. spent yesterday afternoon dressing the new rad with the fan and other bits and bobs and off I went to fit the bugger.
After the fun i've had, I decided to fit the bottom hose and fill it up via the top hose and a funnel before sticking the bagpipes / air box back in.
Well good job I did because within 2 minutes, I had nice fresh red antifreeze pouring out of a hole in the matrix and all over the piggin road  >:( >:(
Just to round it off, one of my lovely neighbours decided to have a fanny fit and told me that she is going to report me to the council for pouring antifreeze all over the road  :o :o
I polite request by me for her husband to come over and repeat what she intended to do was met by a subdued decline and she shuffled off in the direction of her home  ;D ;D

Well, after another conversation with Gerrard, it was agreed that another one was to be sent  ::)
Well, this one turned up this morning and is now on the car leak free I THINK  ;) :D :D
Fingers crossed  ;D

Next on the list is new rear brake discs and pads followed by that wheel bering  ::)
God, I just love my Omega sometimes   ;D

Guess you must be one of life's unlucky sods mate - had 3 of these off carcoolinguk (3 different Qmegas) without any issue.  Still glad you're eventually sorted now :y
