In this instance GU10 for around £3.50

According to the box it gives 50w of illumination but requires only 5w of energy.

Supposedly it will last 23 years. I won't hold my breath.

Keep the receipt. One of the biggest cons out.

Buy two similar bulbs for matching lights and one lasts four years and the other four months. Can you find a match? No, can you find the receipt? No.

For GU10 led's I have found these to be very good

Snap. Had Halogen ones in bathrooms and kitchen, always failing. Expensive, for some reason lights here took a specifc type. £10 a shot. AU GUF 11/64.

Switched to GU 11s, in some case had to cut the frame thing off the holder so they would fit. But had zero issues, a year later nothing has blown. Instant fire up of light, run cooler and cheaper.

Win Win!

I bought THESE last year for the kitchen as the halogen bulbs were forever blowing, not had an issue since, granted it`s only been a year but I would have had to replace all four halogen bulbs by now.

How is that any different to incandescent bulbs? Especially modern ones, which don't last very long at all.

The key with LED bulbs is to buy the branded ones, which will cost more.

The LED types used are a bit like diamonds - there are various grades, affecting both colour and life.  The branded ones like OSRAM will use the higher grade ones.  The cheap shite ones that you'll pick up from likes of egay are the LED equivalent of tool grade diamonds, and have a short life before their light output is unusable.

Ive had these for about a year now, still fine, but the warm white variety...not the cool white that these are 
I think you'll be quite impressed how bright they are

I've bought plenty of branded items that have lasted barely five minutes.

Often they just use  'a trusted brand' and link it to poor quality goods......like BUSH.
