Just remembered that we tried a new place in Alton last week and it was excellent. It's quite an "intimate" place (i.e. we'll probably take over the place if we go there) but the food was excellent.

Yup, a nice evening with good food.
Bit of a sod that they'd closed the M3/A322 junction and put a "detour" in place .. except as most of you will know, there aren't any junctions between there and the M25! So it was a half hour detour via M25/A30/Egham/Ascot ;D

Same her m25 exit to m23 closed added 20 mins to the journey. Bit of a cheek rearly :-*

I tend to go A331/A31/A281, Pretty much a straight line :y
The highways monkeys are always doing that though, usually when I've been upto Oxford... not being able to go South from the M40 onto the M25 is bloody annoying, especially when they can't be arsed to tell you until AFTER the Beaconsfield exit >:(
