I drained mine completely by pulling out the pumps and also took the opportunity pull out and clean the rubber gauze fittings and level sensor. Flushed plenty of water through the tank then refitted everything and filled with the proper concentrate of GM Opticlean.  :y

Usual cause is cheap screenwash :P
Pull out both pump motors (screen & headlamps) from the reservior and check the filters for growths/blockages, clean & replace. Then top up the reservior with a hot water/bleach mix and leave for an hour or so, then drain the reservior by removing the lowest pump & top up with a good quality screenwash! ;D ;) :y

If you don't have the time or inclination to do all the dismantling above .. another fix is to drop baby equipment type sterilising tablets in at double strength ... these will kill off any growth which will hopefully solve the problem. Milton Tablets, or other proprietary stuff will do. We use 2 tablets/gallon to clean the gunge that grows in the caravan toilet flush tank, works a treat .. :)

Do NOT try and use dentist type sterilising stuff, its nowhere near strong enough.
