dti clutch / transmission problems
« on: 24 April 2019, 19:43:10 »

Hi i hope someone can help me out with this one.

Last year i got asked to pick up a friend it was on one of them a frame towing dollys, I towed the car no problem but i had an issue reversing it into a tight spot, the wheels didnt lock on and I couldnt see, after a burning clutch smell I just backed off and un hitched, the car would no longer go into any gears whilst the engine was running, and when the engine was off it did go into gear but it didnt feel the same as before, getting it into first gear, the gear stick was much closer to the stereo than before

I limped the car to a mates garage which was only a mile away shutting the engine off at any stops as it would not come out of gear with the engine running.

We got the box off and it looked like the pressure plate had sustained some damage, so got a new luk clutch kit, the flywheel seemed fine as I stripped an omega dti a fews years back and it felt rxactly the same as that, put everything back together and it eas doing the exact same thing.

Box cones out again, we thought it was the slave cylinder not depressing the clutch enough, so we changed that for a new one, still same problem.

The car has been parked up for four months now and i desperetely need it back on the road. My question is, has anyone had any similar problem to this? How did you fix it?
Is there a special method of setting the pressure plate up before the clutch goes in? Thanks for reading, any help greatly appreciated

Reverse bleed the clutch. Sounds like air in the slave.

Think there a guide.

Cannot see how any issues with the clutch thou would make the gear-lever move more further forward.just wondering if there’s a problem with the gear-lever mount or selector
