ok, got the relay. Which one is the wiper one in the engine bay, before i go pulling them all?

As with all relays, it's the one that clicks in operation, so if you put your hand/fingers on it, you'll feel it as the wiper/indicators/etc operate  :y

Did not think to try that, thanks Andy  :y

Just put it in, look forward to testing it :)

Just done this .... bought the relay from the same ebay seller; the one he sent looked brand new!  30 seconds to fit and works perfectly!  What a simple and useful upgrade!  Thanks for raising awareness of this. Looks like the ebay guy has done some good business since the start of this thread too! ::)

Not a fan of the VW99 upgrade, I'd sooner retrofit the older Omega setup (my Elite is rain sensing, so not required)...

Apropos this, my Elite does not seem to have it, 51 plate. Was it an optional extra?

For some reason, at least in Omegas, the adjustable variable speed was dropped from the last cars, do not know the reason but 2002 models seem to lack it. 2001 it was standard. W edo not have that many with rain sensor in Finland, which I also wonder why not because it was offered as an option for some silly 50 EUR when new  :o Maybe the point in Opel was that people might more likely take the sensor-option...

Once the rain sensor became an option, the manually adjustable standard fitment was replaced with a simpler normal intermittent.

Anyone wired a rain sensor into a car which didnt have one from the factory ?  :-\

I have the correct screen/mirror etc fitted. and have the sensor in the shed.Want to wire up the auto mirror at some point,so will do the sensor at the same time if its doable.

Anyone able to confirm if you can fit the VW99 relay to an Omega with the variable intermittent wiper stalk?

Cheers

Why would you want to ... ??

The relay makes the non-variable behave like the variable .... you already have it !!!!

I have the adjustable intermittent wipe, and use it all the time, but I don't think it adjusts enough. It could do with a longer interval.
