Reg 635 XUN. DVLA says "Lagonda DH". Wikipedia says Aston Martin made them.

Which, I'm guessing, is where The Times sourced their info  :D

1954 makes it a MkII 3 Litre: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lagonda_3-Litre

That is one advantage of youth that we have Andy. Many of the older members of the forum will of course remember their parents  having such cars when they were younger. For example Lord Opti,’s folk probably had a fleet of them on the estate.

They still have 'Aston Martin' and 'Lagonda' outside the entrance at Gaydon  :y

After leaving Rolls Royce in the '30s W.O.Bentley added some of his design touches to Lagonda[originally set up in Staines,Middlesex]engines before designing a V12 and later a 2.6 twin cam straight 6.Aston Martin took over Lagonda in 1947 and the Bentley designed 6 was used as a basis for their engines into the '50s.

Gosh it is so good having older members on the forum with faculties intact. I asked my Dad but he said he couldnt remember seeing a car on the programme.

My first Dinky car was a Lagonda, similar to this model.
