Fault codes following HG change
« on: 19 December 2014, 17:31:18 »

So I took my car out for a quick 15 mile test drive this afternoon and she's running nicely!  :y

I took it steady most of the time and didn't take it much over 4000 rpm, but when I floored it to 'nip' across a junction the EML came on.  :(

I've paperclipped it and got:

19 - Incorrect RPM signal
59 - Intake manifold Valve 1 voltage low

As said she's starting and running well so hopefully it's nothing serious, maybe check all the plugs and vac pipes?  :-\  ???

TIA!  :y

I disconnected the battery and the EML light has gone out.... but thinking about it isn't 19 the Crank sensor?  ???  ::)  FFS!  :o  :(

I'm suspicious of that 19. Shame you can't clear codes, else I'd suggest keeping a daily eye on it.

Makes sense if it flashed up when you booted it... Caught it napping perhaps, though on the DBW v6, crank sensor doesn't put the eml on, so might be a red herring... :-\

Indeed it is ;) merely observing that I don't recall my 3.2 ever putting the eml on as a result of a Cranksensor code...

I disconnected the battery and the light has gone out now, so I'll have a good poke about tomorrow and test further.  :y

The light would have gone out simply by restarting :y

I bet paperclip still shows 'em though...
