CCR 2006
« on: 27 April 2014, 21:57:22 »

Hi Guys

Does anyone happen to have the front for a CCR 2006 radio they want to sell, I'm after one which is all black not grey and black.
I don't care if the radio or CD works as long as the flap where CD's and cassettes go in work, as I can cannibalize everything else off my existing one.

There are 4 grub screws which are used just to plug the holes where the removal pins (wires) push in and when the radio is out the front is held onto the chassis with 4 screws, haven't I manage to break the 4 plastic lugs where these screws fit.

Cheers

Clive

Not to sure what Opel fitted, but all uk  Omega ones were dark grey, or a kind of grey'y black. Other later models were a sliver type grey.

There's a fix for this in the guides.
The faceplate is easily broken when trying to remove the HU. I repaired mine in the past  :y

Hi Jonny

Thanks for your reply, don't suppose you could post a link or tell me how I can find the fix you referred to, I'm hopeless  when trying to search for stuff.

Cheers

Omega Lord

Colour sounds about right, sort of charcoal grey I was going to send you a picture showing the shape of it, but I don't know how to load one up on this site, that's if the site allows, unless of course you could post one of yours.

Failing that the front of mine is wide at the top and tapers towards the bottom, I take it the fixing lugs are ok and cassette and CD flaps work ok

Thanks again

Dont actually have one for sale Clive, was just trying to help out with your colour scheme, before you dive in and buy the wrong one.  ;)

Mmm. Can't find it myself now  :-\
Basically I used bits of an old debit card to replace the broken tabs, with a small hole drilled in it to accept the screw which passes through it into the casing.
I'll keep searching as I really thought I'd read it here  ???

Hi Jonny

Thanks for looking for me, I was thinking it was me not searching correctly as I’m not a wiz at finding things on these forums.

At the moment I’ve sort of pushed the front back on and it’s holding on by various bits that stick up from the printed circuit board if you know what I mean.

I may just try your idea, glue some bits of debit card onto what remains of the broken lugs, it's not as though I'm going to be hanging on it.

It's quite a good fix tbh, and not difficult.
I didn't think of it myself though but can't recall where I read it  :-X
It must have been on the forum though ......
