Possibly either Monroe aftermarket or Holden Commodore ones from Australia (these would be an experiment).

Alternative is to fit standard shocks and springs. There are no other alternatives. :'(

Yup, they're significantly softer ;)

The correct ones are softer. Replacing them with standard rate springs and keeping the air shocks is a big improvement: the ride barely changes, but the handling improves and the air compressor rarely needs to work. They're much cheaper too, assuming you can find S/L springs.

that sound's a good option as well then as the back end dose feel rather soft.i see monroe do an air ride shock but they say they are for an estate and mine is a saloon.will they be the same length?

No. The body of the shock is a different length as is the top threaded mount.
You can only replace saloon with saloon and vice  versa.

If they was not needed immidiatly in this case, they could be taken to the Big Opels meeting in September and I could courier back to these shores then as I will be attending the said gathering again this year
