Our very large local Asda was like the locusts had descended again this morning when I tried to get Milk .

No pasta/fresh meat/Loo rolls etc so pretty much what ever you could eat was being bought...utter madness.I think people will go bust buying all this stuff to fill cupboards with long before they cant make their rent payments .

Our local "convenience" store has plenty of everything .. milk, bread, eggs, even loo roll, only thing hes out of is paracetemol.. says it has been quieter than usual ... seems everyone is rushing to supermarkets and forgetting the local shops... ok he is slightly more expensive and doesn't stock fresh meat, but his prices haven't changed and the service is as good as always ... use it or lose it I say .. :)

If they controlled the production of loo roll maybe we could use it as currency seeing as Sterling is worth bugger all at the moment?  :)

called in at my local farm shop (which i do quite often when passing ) for sacks of potatoes
i'm getting bits of shopping for 6 self isolating, but often give mum or the 80 Y/O lady next door some anyway.
farmer said this is stock meant for sale in June
lots of posh cars turning up
i wonder how many buyers will return the sack fulls of spuds when they open them and find out they have "dirt" on  ;D :D
spuds don't last long stored in centrally heated houses , so plenty will go to waste

no flowers for sale ,unlike all the supermarkets

on a side note ...
if you are visiting elderly relatives ,mother's day etc ,
wear a scarf or mask over your mouth and wash hands etc
no one wants covid 19 as a mother's day gift

though i expect most of you here  ARE the elderly relatives  ;D :D

I'll post this in here. I can't find the original post, but I know it was mentioned on here.

I've had confirmation through work that only 1 parent needs to be a key worker for childcare/school to take them in.

Plenty of stock in Morrisons this lunchtime with the exception of fresh chicken, pork and chocolate. Other than that it's almost back to normal.

Although 1/3rd of the veg section is now mothers day flowers, as is the entrance hall, outside the gates.. pretty much anywhere they can stick flowers, they've stuck flowers! I guess nobody is buying them, and they're still having their usual deliveries..

I was up at 5am this morning to take a granddaughter and a friend of hers[both have severely disabled kids]to the local Asda for 6am as they had reserved the first hour or something for those in at risk groups. They had to show paperwork to prove this as well as some form of ID before being allowed in.Even at that time there was no bog rolls, eggs or sugar and only a few packets of pasta.

Always buy tuna in sunflower oil.  Then you can mix it into a bowl of pasta and it's reasonably tasty.  :y

Ideal if your skint or you have nothing else in due to the apocalypse.  :)

Really hate the smell of Tuna. Brings back memories of a girl I met in a nightclub in 1983. :-\
