Title: OOF Awards Nominations 2017
Post by: TheBoy on 08 February 2017, 08:25:56
For Pillock of the year, I would like to nominate:
TheBoy for buying some springs to replace perfectly good springs, and buying the outboard CV boot instead of the inner.

It must be an age thing :(

You are not alone.   :-[

A couple of years back my car failed the mot on a broken spring. I swear to this day that the mot chap said the front offside, so without even looking at the mot paperwork I bought new GM springs, top mounts and dampers (thought it would save the hassle if the dampers went at a later date) and fitted them.
Imagine my horror when I eventually bothered to look at the paperwork the day before re-mot and read REAR offside. Felt a right knob.  ;D  As I obviously did them in pairs at least it has newish suspension all round.  ::)

Well, yes, indeed.  I was trying to convince myself that it glided over those big speed humps around my way, rather than crashing into them and falling off the other side....  ....but think its placebo effect.

What colour is it? If it's black we can swap it for a 3.2 elite est round my way and I can have the Volvo  ;)  She won't notice... they only notice colours  :D ;D

I could add my replacing a blown bulb for the speedo clock illumination, refitting the clocks, refitting the air vents etc, only to discover i'd refitted the blown bulb and also managing to break the air vent illumination bulb was a bit of a fail.  ::)

Along the same lines... Me for arsing around removing the instrument panel to change the oil pressure bulb to no avail...

Only to notice when doing the cam belt, that the wire had fallen off the oil pressure switch. ::)
