Drivers Door Solenoid not working
« on: 12 December 2019, 15:36:07 »

Hi All

The driver’s door central locking solenoids have gone on two of my 2003 V6 saloons. I brought some before, but can’t for the life of me remember where I got them and can’t find any trace of a likely transaction  (not sure whether a memory or stupidity issue  ).

Can someone please advise:
a)   where is it best to get them from currently?
b)   who the actual manufacturer is (ie. lucas,  bosch , siemens….. or whatever)?
c)   what the relevant part numbers are?
d)   whether they were fitted to any other common cars (ie other routes to availability)?
e)   are they handed or can same part be use for driver or passenger side?

I need at least 2 of them but may get a few more as I have had them go before.

Thanks M.
PS I did quickly look down other threads and Common Issues/ FAQs but couldn’t see answers.

Thanks for that. I was going to search for that guide, as my n/s front has just packed up.

Im useless with a soldering iron. I think you need three hands to use one. However, I work with lots of people who use them for a living, so it shouldn't be hard to get sorted.Might even have the micro switches in stock at work.

That is a great guide  Eboy. Very well written and clea,r but would mean me getting desoldering pump etc as well and is all a bit fiddly / time consuming.

I'd rather buy some new ones if i can at reasonable money :http://images.omegaowners.com/forum/smf2000/Smileys/oofstd/thumbsup.gif

Anyone else got a fix on where i can get some?

https://uk.rs-online.com/web/p/microswitches/2900463/

Thanks Figureman52 I appreciate the input,  but I did actually mean the whole assembly.

Anyone know where i can get the whole assembly from and the relevent manufacturer(s) / part numbers?

If you have an Omega, then you have the part numbers ::)

Any Vauxhall dealer will be able to sell you whatever stock Vauxhall may have, equally any US GM parts retailer by virtue of the Cadillac Catera (an Omega in a vinyl dress)  ;)

They have stock, for £106.

I bought my last drivers door solenoid from AutoDoc of the the UK/Germany email info@autodoc.co.uk or https://www.autodoc.co.uk/ for £62.

Vx Part no. 09049702 -  AutoDoc "Artical No" 31507  which they list as a "Door Lock".

 ;)

I've repaired a few in the past, it is fiddly, but very cheap! ::)
