Gentlemen,I have solved the problem, it was the cluster as suggested,a broken track on plinth, but i do not know how but one side of the copper track
was touching a resistor thus affecting other circuits(it had curled round resistor leg)I pieced it out checked everything replaced and back to normal.
Thank you all for your help and guideance

Hello there,As explained in other post electrical problem it is dash warning lights, main beam, right indicator, rear fog lights only.
When i put main beam on dash light goes out, when i use indicator light goes out, when i switch on rear fog light goes out.
I removed the appropriate relays switched on ignition dash lights remained on,the cluster is the thing that has not been changed
i have never removed one so what can i expect to see.....sorry to be such a pain but this is annoying as well as intriguing ....thank you

Hello gentlemen,Only work i know of prior to fault a brand new alternator was installed,i have checked all the earths, near battery, engine main earth, offside
light, indicator, rear fog lights,i have removed all the relays relevant to the lights and when i put and turn ignition on they come straight on .The only thing
a have not tried is the removal of the main cluster. My question if i remove the cluster what would i expect to see /find to light up only these 3 lights
i cannot find a common denominator that effects these 3.When i get it out what should i be looking for(i have never removed one)Much obliged

Hello everyonei hope you can help me with my electrical problem on my 1997 Omega 20ltr auto.
I put the key into ignition and turn to position one...facia lights come on...main beam light comes on
right indicator light comes on....rear fog light comes on....start car and drive no problem.
Now put main beam on light goes out...put indicator on light goes out...rear fog on light goes out
They seem to be working in reverse.
Any ideas(i would like to solve and do whatever is reqd to rectify)instead of putting it into you know where.

Omega General Help / timing belt marks
« on: 04 September 2016, 17:36:41 »
Hello there,In the thoes of renewing belt w/pump tensioner pulleys on my 1998 20ltr auto, did the stripping down ect
locked off cams, tippexed marks and bottom pulley(tensioner broken)
So i removed belt which was a little marked, checked to see any damage then i noticed the inlet cam straight mark
but exhaust was triangle on cover and cam the straight mark was 10 notches to the left.
I put on new tensioner and reassembled and turned engine by hand ok Q: is the triangle on cover and cam correct
or could the exhaust cam jumped backwards 10 notches.
Thank you all in advance
