Reminds me of my white 2.5 manual senator. when started from cold it would cut out immediately until it warmed up. also the handbrake barely worked on one side and it was always fun to try to start the car from cold on a hill. I was nagged into selling it by my sisters current boyfriend at the time and to top it off he had already borrowed my previous black 3.0 one and managed to tear the seat back and stuff one of the rear doors in.

I bought one of the aldi ones they had for sale a little while back which has the monitor in the handset. and it seems ok at the moment but I suppose time will tell whether it lasts.

On my 3.2 estate the sat nav would play discs but the actual cd player wouldn't. and I don't need a disc now as my 2000 2.5 elite doesn't have navigation in it.

I used to have a MK2 escort that was rotten in the area where the window frame was welded to the shell of the door so all you had to do was pull the frame out like a 2CV and unlock it..

My scuttle drain is rather full but I think it still just about lets water out. but I had a wet drivers side carpet in my 3.2 estate and it turned out to be the sunroof drain tubes were blocked. so I blasted some WD40 down them and it seemed to clear the problem.

Bought some oil to do an oil change again and ordered the oil filter which they never had in stock and also the pins/clips to change the pads etc.

The chassis rails above the middle subframe mounts need doing rather urgently on mine and its lucky that the subframes have six points to mount them to the car rather than four as it would have dropped off months ago.
