Johnny does have a point ..... Allan has been the/part of the reason why various people have left the forum over the years 🙄

The last HBV I changed was on a campsite with basic tools .... i just removed the scuttle (&maybe the wipers ..... it was a while back now)

Cost will depend entirely on depth, area and type (density/composition/reinforcement). That said, if you're only talking a couple of square feet, it should be pretty diyable :y

F*ck me, you're a builder now as well....? :y
;D ;D ;D

I've had reasonable results in the past with Gunk driveway cleaner .... but it was only small stains ... not a bucket full of oil.

The one car I would have loved was a 24V Senator,....

I loved my 24v Senator  :) :) :) :)

Interiors have shrunk over time, My Carltons were a tad smaller, Omega a tad tighter.

I like a roomy car with the gadgets, sunroof and electric sunroof have to be a must on my next car, but I am not aware of anything that I would like that compare to a Senator, Maybe a BMW series 7/8 or an S class Merc.  But I havnt enough spare cash to in vest in either, and would they ever be classed as a proper classic in t he future.

I never really noticed that ....

My R Class had a pano roof ..... I do miss it on my ML  :(

Trouble is, as soon as you go van base you lose a hell of a lot of the everyday use refinement

Compared to a Voyager? ???

My Dad has a diseasal Voyager ..... I don't think it's that bad. I've driven worse.

How many seats do you need ?

Six is the minimum. And that's on and approximately monthly basis. 7 is useful as it's very often 6 people plus mobility scooter, so a 2-3-1 formation works best unless the car is mahoosive enough to have the scooter behind the rear seats.

You need a Chrysler Grand Voyager with the seats that fold into the floor (apparently not all have that option) Seats up & you seat 7 in total ie 6 passengers ... seats down & it rivals a Transit for carrying stuff.  :y
They're getting on a bit now though.

Auto hill hold, but without a button. The S has it too. Great when you first stop on a slope, but not so functional in stop start/creeping traffic as it thinks you've pulled away already and won't reapply itself so you have to physically apply the parking brake to stop rolling back :D

The R had it too, not surprising being a related chassis to the ML/GL, although it had the traditional foot operated mechanical parking brake. The hill hold aspect is done through the ABS ;)
That's what your left foot is for   ;)

electric hand/parking/emergency brakes ..... the answer to a problem that never existed.

At least my ML's only goes on when I tell it to & not automatically when the car stops.

Agree. Plus the stupid interlock . Open your door and the handbrake comes on.

Not always .....  :-\ It'll go into Park if already in Drive, but doesn't always put the parking/hand brake on. In 4 plus years I've never quite worked out when or why it'll put the brake on. I know that if it puts on itself, it won't auto release & I have to release it - that's caught me out once or twice.

Burger King has been taken to court somewhere, probably America, on the grounds that their Whopper isn't really a Whopper!  ;D

Impressive for something from 1977 built by communists. ::) ::) ;)

I was amazed that the V12 still used a rope type rear crank seal
