It'd be faster...

Lack of use, and poor starting do not do it any favours.

Topped up the Battlebus with electricity today. Needs topping up again, as all the electricity drained away when I went to start it, having to shuffle cars around for tomorrow.

Booked it in for it's MoT...
Which it passed 8)

Only 7 advisories although it left the garage with only 6 outstanding...

Front to rear brake pipes corroded
Rear brake hose starting to deteriorate x2
Handbrake imbalance, (OS is a touch weak)
NSR ARB link slight play
Rear heat shield loose
OSR tyre valve leaking (only showed up because I had had it washed on way to test...)

Had the tyre valve done, they actually ended giving the beading surface a scrub and polish too, and left £70 lighter... the rear droplinks, brake hoses and handbrake can wait and will all be done at the same time. Undecided how best to trackle the brake pipes, but a smear of copplerslip should suffice for now.

I wonder if the purchaser of that S Class will be so fortunate  ::)

Started to remove n/s/f strut, to pinpoint the source of knocking. 15 minutes later the heavens opened, and the rain has only now stopped as its got dark.  >:(

I got two(although there were two failures): NSF tyre wearing slightly on the inner edge, and a noisy rear wheel bearing. Which will annoy me on holiday, but I don't have time to replace it before we go.

The bloke from Autoglass has just left, after fitting a new windscreen.

He was excellent; prompt, competent and professional.
The company are the opposite, and are best avoided.

They are the preferred provider for most ins cos though, and you pay extra for using anyone else.

Short version

Today I did a hole.
And a replacement sheet.
At last I did some welding.

It was a very nice afternoon!  8)

Had a couple of screens via them, when they eventually get the right screen (last one was a Genuine GM one from Germany) and you get a good fitter then I rate them. Autowindscreens when they were trading were absolutely **** on the two occasions, although when they finally got a screen after three months (Pilkington special order) and they found a fitter who'd done Omega's before then the result was good.... shame the car got rear ended a few moths later.
