Title: Makes a change from "broken coil spring"
Post by: annihilator on 15 September 2020, 09:09:01
Saw this whilst browsing the bay of e 58 plate Ka spares or repair.Quite shocking for a 12yr old car even if it's a Ford

On a 12 year old Ka, it's a surprise those bits still have something to attach to. Unless they're like a lot of old XJs where the IRS was held in by gravity acting on the body above it.....

Try looking under a grey import from Japan sometime, the narrower Previas often have rotted through semi-trailing arms

The leaking shock clearly didn't help stem the rust ;D

Rust flakes destroyed the oil seals?

Rusted through from outside by the look of it :D

Although I would wager that the shock bolt is rusted solid ;D

Those hateful KAs have loads of rust issues, where else have you seen a commonly used repair panel for the fuel filler......just one of the many tin worm spots on them.

It's the MK2 shape 09 onwards which is what surprised me.
