Suspension sensor
« on: 13 July 2011, 16:48:19 »

Hi all, am having trouble with the suspension level sensor. Am going to get a second hand one as I am sure it is the fault, but just wanted to check as I am no electrician.
The pump works if you apply 12 accross it and there is power to the relay but the pump doesnt come on if you move the sensor arm up or down. It does however come on if I short out the yellow wire from the sensor to earth. The yellow wire from the back of the relay shows as open circuit no matter what possition the arm is in also.
I tried disconecting the plug from the sensor and measuring for continuity accross the pins on the sensor but nothing changes when you move the arm.
I hate car electrickery at the best of times, but if anyone could confirm my suspitions or tell me I am an idiot and where I am going wrong, I would be greatfull.

Cheers    Al
